Amazing story!! Thank you for sharing!
In EMS that’s the easiest time. Really can’t prep too well until you know more information.
So is the CRNA monitoring vitals? I used to do conscious sedation back in 2004 & it was only me & the physician & a tech. I administered the sedation & monitored pt. Tech assisted doc with specimen collection. I didn’t know they don’t do it that way anymore. I did bronchoscopy tho not endoscopy.
I still don’t get what you mean by concept base.
Thank you for this
Amazing!
Please keep making these videos. I am in nursing school and want to be the best I can!
Covert narcissism and injury to someone’s ego and projection of their insecurities onto others. If you observe long enough you’re able to pick up patterns on group dynamics and the needs people have to have met to make or satisfy their identities and it comes sadly at the price of devaluing, invalidating, villainizing, ostracizing and scapegoating others. It creates a unified bonding between people of a feather who like to gossip, etc. creating in and out group solidarity among the toxic who pride themselves on “knowing” but ultimately its controlling the narrative to preserve themselves, their ideals, views and the group who nods in agreement with them. Their knowing isn’t really knowing it’s tailoring the narrative and the outcomes to suit their needs and feed their self fulfilling prophecies. Makes them appear smarter and intuitive than they actually are. For example if they gang stalk their prey and get them to react unfavorably the it can be as though they knew it all along and their prey was unhinged or had a problem meanwhile the whole time they were passively aggressively bullying that person in many ways directly/indirectly it’s a form of reactive abuse(covert narcissistic practice) in which they make the victim of their bullying look like the problem all along thereby reinforcing the bullies ideology/mindset and empowers their views as being acceptable and correct. You make a valid point confronting individuals to air it out however given patterns of behaviors in people and the possibility of manipulation, gaslighting and blame shifting it would be wise to have a non biased third party (nurse manager etc) involved to mitigate and keep a professional atmosphere. Where later it can’t be alleged this way or that by either party and hopefully come to a complete resolution and a move forward with better communication going forward.
This is extremely helpful ❤
I’m a pacu Rn in a cosmetic surgery center ❤ 2 patients max. No weekends
Great to hear your voice, thoughts and ideas
Oh my goodness Ann!! Its Meaghan lactation consultant! We miss you!!! I love that your doing a podcast! So amazing! 😊 I would love to be a guest on your podcast sometime if your allowed to have guests! ☺️
How can you get into ICU nursing after completing medical-surgical as active Army new grad nurse?
This video was awesome. I learned a lot about what to expect of PACU. I have 29 years of Nursing in almost every specialty except, ICU, CCU. I have been a Postpartum Nurse since 2004 but in between i floated to medical surgical units. Did Home Care Nurse, Rehab, Hospice, Psychiatric etc. Im motivated to go into PACU settings. I was interviewed for a position yesterday 5/17/2024 and praying i will get the position. Im excited. Thank you for your shared knowledge with us. It was fun. Blessings 🌹
Thank you ! I’m about to start my last semester of nursing school and I’m debating between two way different specialties
Love this podcast soo much. The information within each episode is so invaluable!
Glad you are enjoying it! Stay tuned for May 21, 2024 as we release our new season!
great podcast. i love it❤
Diverse teaching and learning methods!
I love podcasts like these. ❤
Kind of long answer, I (almost) got lost in it...
That is true you should give some new material to study today ....
Well said! Thanks for validating what I was thinking. 🙏
This is the best CRNA interview I’ve ever watched on CZcams. Thank you for getting in depth and using examples to highlight the full scope and responsibility of the CRNA. Thank you Maggie!
Thank you so much 🥹
Episode 64 is SPOT on. Every nurse should watch this.
What is the real name of THE forensic nurse? I cant find her other Videos
Her name is Leah Helmbrecht and she is on Instagram @offtheclocknurse !
It feels like everything is against the nurse. It makes me feel like I don't want any part of this. I mean if I do this, it'll be wrong. If I don't do this, I'll still be wrong. Nurses save lives, and people have the right to criminally charge them (the ones that are honest)??
We live in a culture that uses litigation so freely. The best you can do is do what you know is right, know your hospital policies, and be diligent on your documentation always.
Sooo pretty

Thank you for this. Im going to nursing school and L&D is on of the top 3 specialties ive considered going into. Its nice to know the realities of working in this field. And thank you guys for all that you do as a nurse. God knows it is not easy to do what you do everyday.❤
You’re so welcome!! Best of luck in wherever you end up!
Thank you so much for this video! I was just applying for. PACU position when I found it and today I received and accepted the offer. I’m so excited to transition from night shift Neuro ICU to PACU!
That’s awesome, congratulations I hope you love it!!
Congratulations 🎊. Blessings 🌹
Love it girls! Nursing rocks! I am having interview in 2 days for endoscopy. I am endoscopy preop nurse this help a lot!
“You’re not perfect” , but they sure make you feel like you gotta be. This is the reason nurses are so scared and become computer nurses instead of actually taking appropriate time with the patients. Definitely a broken world and system. I worked with a nurse once who had the world’s best charting, but her patients suffered. She looked like an amazing nurse on paper.
This was a great video! Thank you for all the insight. This was very helpful. I just found your page today & plan to watch all your podcasts!
Love to hear it! Thanks so much ☺️
I’m biased but I still think anesthesia is the best kept secret!
No doubt it’s a great field!!
Too bad it doesn’t pay as well. Is truly rewarding but that good feeling can’t pay the bills unfortunately.
I'm so glad I watched your video. I have over 20 years of ICU/CVICU experience. I love ICU, but I'm completely burnt out and injured on top (currently on worker's comp) PACU was always in the back of my mind, now a priority in my list of top 5 jobs I'd like to switch to when I'm ready to go back.
Amazing. Do what’s best for you and don’t think twice about it.
I really wanna join the army. Butvi was told to get 1 year icu experience first. I wanna join as a new nurse
I know nurses who were recruited right out of nursing school. I would contact an army recruiter for more information.
Maggie has thee prettiest smile, I have ever seen! Wow!❤️
Thank you so much!
It’s so unique.
There are so many wound certification websites. Which ones do you recommend?
I enjoyed this podcast. A big thank you to both of you wonderful nurses, Maggie and Liz.
Thanks so much! ❤️
Super informative, thanks guys! As an ER nurse for 22 years I finally decided I was ready for a change. I’ll be starting in the PACU in two weeks, and honestly, I can’t wait!!
Awesome! Best of luck. Thanks for sharing!
Yay finally Cardiac step-down 🥰🥰🥰❤️this specialty is so dear to my heart & made me a great nurse….However, I’m now in PACU🙌🏾 (that video was good too)❤️
I’ve got a unit that pulls on my heart strings like that too ❤️ we all have to leave where we start in order to grow
What must a nurse do to become a nurse manager? ?
It depends on the need. If you want to be a strong candidate, having an MSN definitely helps. If there are any programs in your organization that are geared towards cultivating leadership, seek those out. Sometimes though, being a leader on your unit can be enough, if there is a desperate need. The best managers come from being bedside nurse leaders because they understand the needs of their nurses better than anyone else.
This was great. Thanks!
You’re so welcome! 😊
GREAT ❤🎉
❤❤
I’m currently in a PACU where the CRNAs run the show so much so they are hot-headed. 🙄 I’ve worked in other PACUs where they are much nicer and more respectful of PACU nurses. I just interviewed for another PACU job and it seems like this one will be better. Hope to get it. It’s also a community hospital.
That power struggle can be so toxic. Fingers crossed for you it’s a better environment
I passed one that was bigger than a soda can, and the nurse acted like it was nothing.
Ooof! Did you end up having a hemorrhage?
@@NursingUncharted not that I’m aware of. The nurse just sort of copied it up with her gloved hand and was like, “It’s fine. You’re fine.” Both my husband and I were a bit traumatized, though.
“chopped,”not copied.
I currently work as a cna/lna in the us what’s the quickest career path to become a active duty nurse (I’m 28 and haven’t been in school in 10 years)
Hey! Let me reach out to Corrine and get that answer for you!
the fastest way if you don’t already have your Bachelors degree is to do ROTC through a BSN program, if you already have your BSN in progress, talk to an AMEDD recruiter! If you need help contacting one, comment back and I can get you in touch with one!
I’ve now been working in the Pacu for 3 months. Everything Ali, said about her pacu, Is true to mine. And like you said Maggie @ 49:10 6years as EMT/PCT/RN in emergency department/trauma centers I’d agree. There was a lot of learning involved before I even step foot on the floor. Anesthesia is fascinating. I’ve never been happier. My work/life balance is awesome. My most memorable patients were my two deaf patients who required interpreters. Such nice people. What an honor.
That’s awesome. It’s such a great specialty. I’m so glad you found your niche!
