When the dam broke a few years ago, I caught several big catfish in the little spillway. I've been back several times since & haven't caught anything. It's a beautiful spot to spend the afternoon nonetheless.

My guess is that the fire department is using it as a water tanker now. The have put fire hose fitting on it on all the connections as seen in the walk around. The one issue is that water weighs about 2-lb more a gallon than fuel so there is a good chance that truck is over weigh from the design weigh. Other than that it is an excellent choice for poor rural fire departments. The tanker comes with its own pump too. Remember these refuelers from my time in the air force but I don't recall the volume.

I don`t know about that stuff, but maybe "avoid water" is for time when it was a refueller. For reason like not let water to add in fuel. But maybe water can break some mechanisms or just rust from inside

I just got off the phone with A.O. Smith. They can't pull up my model by serial number or model number even though I have taken a picture of it on the back of the service plate. I did call the tech number and here's the kicker. She did know what a table top unit was. She did confirm that this was a 1987 unit. And she was able to tell me this doesn't screw in but it actually bolts in. Since it's blowing one of the fuses, she thought one of the elements had blown. Since it shows the element is 4500 watts, she said great, all you need is a basic element until we got to the part of it being bolted in. The bolt in elements likely aren't available anymore. She said I'd need an adapter to convert it to a screw in and it's doubtful that can be found. That takes care of that.

I just discovered this is called a table top hot water heater. I have one from 1987. I'm hoping that the element(s) are just bad. I did see a website that tells you how to test these things with an electrical ohms meter. A decent tank these days is around 800 plus. A friend suggusted a tankless but I'm limited to a 30 amp fuse, yes, fuse, not breaker. Some of these tankless ones can require 75 amps or so.
