Yes, these are the real sounds that we recorded with 4 microphones (one of them is in the inside). No sound was added artificially. Not sure why you mention a videogame, we were just kids playing with microphones and mixers many years ago 🙂 It was just and intro to a metal band song, so no need for any pitch correction.

I mentioned videogames because proper sound recording is what misses to who make modded sounds for racing games. When you see a soundmod for a videogame, the starting resource is a CZcams video, then the right clip is ripped and modified to have a .wav track to insert in a soundfile of the videogame. +truth serum I'd rather go for ETX12P is price and weight difference is small yet power output noticeable. I haven't directly used ETX12P, but I have some TX1122 (passives) which have the same internal components.

thanks for the comment Leproduktor... I used the SPL calculator I found here: www.doctorproaudio.com/doctor/calculadores_en.htm and determined the SPL with 4 x ZXA1 is slightly greater than 2 x ETX-12P - based on input of the Electrovoice Specifications... so I have decided to keep my 4 x ZXA1 for F.O.H. and save the $$$. I know there is no DSP / EQ / DELAY etc. - but seemed to make sense. Thanks and best :)

+truth serum I really wish it would have been as simple as you think it is ;-) Both speakers are active, therefore manufacturer only gives you maximum measured sound pressure level using the internal amplifier instead of SPL per 1W measured from 1m (which you would need for these calculations). Therefore any calculation you've made is not correct. Since double the sound pressure level equals +6dB, with 2x ETX-12P (135 max SPL) you'll get 141 dB peak together and 4x ZXA1 (126) you'll have 138 dB peak, however you'll be able to cover wider area but with narrower frequency range. SPL difference may not be noticeable to casual listener, but flatter frequency response will. Look at frequency responses in EV spreadsheet, ETX-12P is almost perfectly flat thanks to modern sound processing, whereas ZXA1 does have 8dB differencies within its stated -3dB range.
