Unlike many ppl I don't think she killed herself Here's my theory: Purple girl (can't remember her name so I'll call her Violet) like many ppl in Japan is under the pressure to perform super well in school. It annoys her a lot. She meets blonde girl (we'll call her Sunny) and fell in love with her. She realised how outstanding Sunny is and how abnormal she is and that it's the reason everyone loves her (all that I figured from the notes in the og video)She got some attention from her classmates and decided she wanted to be abnormal too to get people's attention. She didn't realise she liked Sunny and thought it was bc she was abnormal. She starts getting attention (shown by chairs facing her during 1st chorus) but still wants more (perhaps she was neglected who knows). She starts dreaming about losing Sunny. She starts acting abnormal more but now everyone is afraid of her (shown by shoes not facing her when she's on the rooftop in chorus 2). Violet realises that acting this way made her lose herself and go crazy. She still wants everyone's (especially Sunny's) attention, so she starts sexualizing herself even tho she hates it (shown in the last part of the song). All things that could refer to suicide (chairs, shoes, rooftop, purple butterflies, her getting replaced by flowers on her desk etc.) Actually shows how she's killing herskef through trying to change who she is. In the notes on the og vid, she says "I disappeared" but then repeats "look at me" over and over, so I think it's the old Violet that disappeared and her wishing people gave her positive attention again. She says "I saw a butterfly" "I became a butterfly" - she saw that Sunny destroyed herself to be this way. She did it too. Or maybe she finally became what she wanted to be. In the beginning all her classmates are shown as butterflies. They're all unique she just couldn't see it. She also realises she loves Sunny at some point (also in notes). I think "she killed herself" is too easy of an explanation (+it makes me uncomfortable lmao)

Something I noticed about the song, is that there’s a deeper and quiet voice behind Miku’s, like if someone was using her voice as a voice filter. It fits with the song.
