Muy bueno! Saludos desde Argentina
Viva el blues!! Son muy buenos. Saludos desde Argentina.
Well, I was a waitress at that bar . . . It Mary have been fun for you, not so much for us .. Until Duke decided to give as advance notice! 😆
hard.
I was in Indianapolis for 3 weeks on a cross train. Totally by accident wound up at this show. They had a bunch of video cameras recording the show. We originally couldn’t get in so we went to another bar close by. There we met a guy work with Duke that got us in just before the show. The guy I was cross trading with knew him from high school. It was a great show. Amazed I found this footage from that show. Great memory!
I love how at 2:00 he is still wearing his red shirt. The last shot of the red shirt was at 2:11 ... then, as if by magic, three seconds later, he is wearing a tux jacket and red bow tie. He wears that through 3:36, then 7 seconds later he magically is back in the red shirt.... all the time never missing the beat. This pattern of red shit to tux continues throughout the remainder of the song. I suspect a bit of post recording editing hocus-pocus was afoot.
Kris ROck on Bass
Watched Duke Tumatoe and the All Star Frogs at a bar in Iowa City, IA - 1976
I think these guys played at partners nightclub in South bend Indiana. Does anybody remember that I know they played at the music box in Mishawaka Indiana. The good old days. ✌️🇺🇸
Hey I know those guys!!!
Love Duke Tomato and the all star frogs, used to see them at Crazies
Wow he's a surprisingly good! Great at both singing and guitar.
I saw "Duke Tomato And The All Star Frogs" at "So's Your Mother" (Mother's) regularly for several years in the 70s. There was usually at least a few bikers and a lot of trashy women...I enjoyed the 70s.
The "70's was the longest party I've ever attended!"
Still my favorite Dan Holmes song.
cool. I have a video somewhere when Gov was in a studio in Indy around 1992 when he was being broadcast live on a radio station.
Will Wheaton on drums
Saw this guy when I was young and when he was playing in, of all bands, REO Speedwagon!
My older brother was playing in Champaign - Urbana during the early days Brown Jug ect. ( I am quite a bit younger so it was long before my time ) when he was still playing under his real name Bill Fioreo. I have heard the stories of how Richrath before he was in REO would go and watch him play and get as close to the stage as he could and try to pick up pointers. He was already the Duke and the Allstar Frogs by the time I got to see him, great band and great showmanship. In one single song they could play jazz, blues, and rock and make it work.
@@illbarry His blues licks are just amazing.
@@deschutesmaple4520 An understatement!! He is one of those who should have, but didn't get more National attention for who knows why.
Love it!
Saw Duke the 1st time in Bloomington Indiana at Dunn Meadows on IU Campus with his band the All Star Frogs.
I saw these guys in Scottsdale
Great band. Duke is a rare talent. I used to see them at Crazy's Place on Ogden Avenue in Lyons, Illinois way back in the day. Late 70s?
Nasty Duke:} ... lets get freaky!
I saw these guys once decades ago in ICIA. Good show "You got the dope, I got the rope..." is how this song started.
Official song of the Me Too movement :)
Wouldn't know what to do if he did..ahh but he asks the women they would tie him up....they wouldn't come back lol
1979 at the Lazy Jay in Bloomington Illinois. Duke was wailing that summer and I saw him several times. I love Duke and the All Star Frogs!

"Longevity"...
Duke stomped them in freestyle solos
I went to this Concert in 1988 with My Ex Wife at Emen's Auditorium in Ball State University and it still holds as one of My Favorite Concerts Ever!
Oh wow! There I am! Haha!
I was hoping to hear my voice in that intro! Haha! Miss you Dan!
Caught Duke at the Knickerbocker Saloon a few times back in the 90s. Not much of dance floor there in those days, maybe enough for three couples. For this number the women would get up on the chairs, tables, and bar to do their dirty dancing.
Unknown in his own time; A legend in his own mind.
Jimmy B - A legend in my mind too.
He was far from being unknown though he didn't achieve what you must refer to as world wide acclaim success he played to packed audiences everywhere he played and there were many. Major Record labels didn't know how to sell his music or how it fit in. It wasn't pop, it wasn't pure blues, jazz, or rock though it contained all elements and his shows a bit risque and meant for an adult audience in humor and antics. When other bands were let go from major labels in purges of the new and best thing to sell and they broke up, he just kept going and never skipped a beat under his own record label. Beside being one of the 1st guitar players of REO he was on many impromptu with better known " legends " on stage where before he got down playing beside them he was the focal point because he was that good in playing ability on guitar. Not many get to do and make a living at what they truly enjoy in life and find purpose in it, but Bill Fioreo did and my honest guess is he is far more of a legend in doing what he has done then you are in anything you have ever done.
@@illbarry Hi. By your response I'm lead to think that you didn't see his act in the 1970s. The phrase, "Unknown in his own time ..." is how he had emcees introduce Duke. I have a live recording that uses this introduction. One of my favorite club bands were the Allstar Frogs.
@@jimmyb1378 Thank you correction noted. I was too young to see him until '79 in a place called Front Street in Quincy, Ill. but I knew a lot about him. My older brother was a basest and went to U of I and lived in Urbana 66 - 72. I have probably heard that recording, but I don't own a copy. I will look for it and my apologies towards you.
Very wild and exciting! Nice job and your alt band, too!
Great song! Very cool!
What a fun video and song! Love the triple screen. Particularly cool to see how Kevin smokes and plays bass at the same time, very daring!
Friends to the End Music Thanks! It felt a bit like Halloween to me.
Wow! Nice job guys. What a great sound and video for a live performance! Can even tell there was some wind out there. Way to go!
What a nice well recorded and well performed live version of this great song! Thanks for sharing.
Nice recording and fine performance. This video certainly demonstrates you have that funky New Orleans sound down.

Smoked up lead singer at So's Your Mother in Des Moines, IA in 1977!!! Fuckin' AwESOME show!!!
nice work guys.
i remember the all star frogs also on the bill at one time....
Ha! I can't believe you found me! This was 2 life times ago! Blaq Lily disbanded in 2007. Not that I care but you spelled Lily wrong...🙉. I'm now in Blakenstein! Www.reverbnation.com/blakensteinmusic
Oops! Sorry about the misspelling. Thought I should post all these old episodes as sort-of a time capsule. Glad you're still performing!
Lived in Bloomington for 16 years, saw every big group in history (74-84), no tighter band than the Duke's.
