Do you happen to know the gram measurements for the ingredients? I can look it up but just in case. May I ask how you clean the cheesecloth afterward? I worry about laundry soap residue being left on there for the next batch. I made yogurt for the 1st time last week without straining. It was good but I would like to strain it a little bit next time.

    • @pauletteseats6496
      @pauletteseats6496 Před 11 měsíci

      Yes absolutely! It super easy! I rinse it really well with hot water first and sometimes even let it soak in hot water after I’ve rinsed it really well, then I add like 2 small drops of a gentle dish detergent and scrub it really well and then rinse it really well about 2 or 3 times and then I ring it out and drape it over a chair and let it air dry! I’ve never had any issues doing it this way, it’s never had any soap residue smell and my cheese cloth has always smelled clean never any rotten smell from yogurt sitting in fibers! My yogurt has never tasted like any hint of soap ever because I rinse it thoroughly! I hope this helps!

    • @pauletteseats6496
      @pauletteseats6496 Před 11 měsíci

      To make yogurt properly, I would strongly suggest to use a cooking thermometer because you have to heat it up to temperature to kill off any of the bad bacteria and then you need to cool it down to just the right temperature so that it has just enough warmth to ferment and turn into yogurt!

    Im confused. I thought greek yogurt had more protein than regular yogurt? How is that if you are draining off the whey?

    • @pauletteseats6496
      @pauletteseats6496 Před 11 měsíci

      You are right, Greek yogurt Does have more protein than regular yogurt. What happens is when you drain yogurt to become thick Greek yogurt, you are draining off the whey, but it leaves behind something called Casein Protein, that’s why it is so high in protein! Casein protein is what makes milk look white, and it’s a more slow releasing protein, which makes your body feel fuller for longer! I hope this information was helpful!

    Milk meant for baby cows. Dairy industry is cruel AF. Male calves are killed soon after birth because they are waste to the industry since they don’t produce milk. Babies are separated from their mothers at birth whether male or female. The most evil industry. Try plant-based milk. I make cashew milk and yogurt at home - super easy and delicious without the cruelty. Watch ‘Dairy is scary’ 5 minutes video on youtube. The truth is hidden from you.
