Not on this cruise. We weren't near there. The kayaking happens depending on the weather and sometimes the ice is so bad that the ship cannot go to the planned destinations. I am sure on other cruises they kayak there, but you can never guarantee anything due to the changeable weather. The ships have a Plan B, C and D!

Hi John, We had to get changed in our room just like I demonstrated, and there are a LOT of layers. The boots are the most cumbersome. When you come back on the ship, you wash your boots in the disinfectant. Hurtigruten gives you a big red waterproof jacket so you really don't get wet. Actually, the only time we did have wet clothes was when we (foolishly!) did the polar bear plunge and swam in the sea. We hung our clothes in the bathroom and the ship has heating so it was never musty at all. The only excursions that are extra on the ship are kayaking and camping on the ice; everything else is included. I have never heard of snorkeling on any cruise line, it's toooo cold!! I hope this helps. Mandy

Yes it was!!! There was a storm on the way back to Argentina and the captain had to veer way east to try and avoid the worst of it. I was so anxious that I had insomnia for 2 days and that's why I had to be sedated. Also, my husband says I am a bit of a baby!

Hello, No, that it is not true. There are about 400 - 500 passengers on a Hurtigruten cruise and there is room for ALL passengers on the zodiacs. We were put into different groups and each group is called down to the zodiacs at different times. Our group went out at, let's say, 10 am and the next group went out at 10.30 am and the next at 11 am. We stayed on the continent with the penguins for a couple of hours and then came back to the ship. I would say most people wanted to go out onto the Antarctic continent. A few older people and people with disabilities stayed on the ship and watched from the top decks. But, I promise you: if you want to explore and leave the ship on the zodiacs, there is definitely room. 100%. Nobody is denied. The only limits are with the kayaking or camping excursions overnight. There are only a few places for those excursions. But...you couldn't PAY me to camp in the ice overnight, so I didn't worry! LOL. I hope you get to go!

That is not true! The policies carried out by Eva Perón are internationally recognized, and have the acceptance and approval of the majority of Argentines. Only the anti-patriarch, misogynists, oligarchs, and those with little study (gorillas) disapprove of it
