These were tough old boats. Starcraft used tighly spaced rivets and I never saw one leak. Starcraft started out building septic tanks.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah I like them on some older vehicles but I needed this a lil quieter for a daily basis. my 53 chevy runns a 12in tractor glass pack. mainly to appease local law enforcement lol.
I had these. After a year one blew out a baffle. Switched to Flowmaster Super 50s.
They're still running strong and sounding great.
This is the only video i've found so far about the exact same outboard engine as mine, out and running. So just whyyy ?? why did you have to cover up the only real interesting part of your video with some cranked up rock music set to 175% volume... 🤦 Don't you know, the violent screams and roars you get from engines are in fact music, not for some, but for most people 😎🤟
it was just wind noise in the video sadly. so I added the music.

@@PowersPlays97 I deliver campers around the country, so I look for deals sometimes while I’m out. I found mine close to Joplin Missouri for $350 with the independent suspension trailer and everything. Im in the middle of restoring it now. But it will have a new motor, all new interior, paint and the windshield has a small crack in it and it’s faded a little. Did you replace yours? If so where did you get it? Mine is in amazing shape too as far as the body and everything. Something I haven’t seen. Mine has a gas tank in the front with lines ran to the back, does yours?
@@unfinishedbusiness3164 no fuel tank in the front, I put my duel battery setup up there. my windshield was in good condition no scratches or cracks I just had to polish it up really good. I paid $600 for mine with a nice running 58 35hp evinrude on it. with titles for both. I ran it for a year and upgraded to a 79 75hp evinrude. she really moves now lol
@@PowersPlays97 lol not bad at all. I’m planning to put a new engine, but looking at the weight of the 61 75 hp vs the new models, it can hold about a 50hp modern engine. Not sure 100% which route I plan to go yet.
@@unfinishedbusiness3164 the 3cyl 70s 80s models do well on them especially with the front mount fuel cell.

I'm not sure. I never weighed it. I can move it with my lawn mower around the yard and have towed it with a 4cyl jeep wrangler, I can also pick up the front to put it on the ball fairly easily. so not much I'm guessing. that's one of the major reasons I love this boat.

I pressed it out also. it came out in two pieces. then I had to clean the black rubber residue out of the prop housing with acetone then soap and water.

I have the 1976 75hp evinrude and I have to use the warm up lever for every start and at no wake speed like going slow to load it on the trailer at very low speed it will shut off I talk to the original owner and he said the guy I bought it from said the idle was to high so he thinks he might have messed with the idle at full throttle it goes awesome but very low speed it dies going through the no wake zone it will run somewhat good little bit of a gas smell which we have cleaned the carburetors and yesterday I put a new water pump and thermostat in it but have had it beck in the lake yet because this weekend was 45 degrees and rain Friday Saturday and Sunday
yeah, I'm in Ohio we got that noreaster here pretty bad especially up at the big lake. yeah sounds like something isn't adjusted correctly or something is clogged in the carbs. They're great motors it maintenance is kept up and not over heated.

they look just like the Flowmaster 40 series. I believe they're just called thrush welded

the winch I got from the farm store I fabed the mount out of scrap steel I had laying around

Thank you for the video, I just got this same motor with controls and starter box. Runs great I have been running it at 24:1 is that the correct mix for this motor?
Thats what I ran some say that you can run at 50:1 with modern oil but I I didn't trust that information and oil is cheaper than motors lol it always ran fine with no excessive smoking. So always ran it at the manufacturer ratio of 24:1

Subscribed. Great video, down to earth and environmentally conscious. We only get one earth 🌍 no more $89 synthetic oil changes lol I just need to get the jack and stands, etc to “do it safe!” Any good ideas for how you recycle your oil? Maybe use it on bike chains ⛓ or other tools/parts they need lubrication?
I bring all mine to my local advance auto parts store they have a recycling program for used motor vehicle fluids. I use to use it in my chainsaws for bar and chain lube but i stopped because it does have contamination in the oil that is bad for the chain the environment and myself. I just 100$ recycle it now. Sometimes ill use some to make a mixture to start a fire outside quickly.

Bought the wrong what? The bushing was the correct one and worked well for the two seasons I used this motor before I repowered with a newer 75 hp. I have this exact same motor and there isn’t much out on this. I have a problem with it just bogging on acceleration and eventually.... it will open up and take off. it’s so weird. Any ideas? i’ve tested spark and compression. All are good. Carbs are extremely clean and just rebuilt
Maybe a fuel line issue check you're fuel lines or just spend a lil get new ones. Did you ever figure it out?
Replace the fuel pump.

I do still own it, no it's not for sale sorry. Its a fantastic motor and perfect for my boat. I put Power tilt and trim on it this season.

@@vdrummer9 I used Rust-Oleum Marine applied by roll and tip method, search CZcams on how, it's easy and doesn't require special tools or sprayers.
