10 round is a rotary mag a 25 is single stack mag...that is why it is long.

Out of curiosity did you leave, or clean off, the factory teflon grease that goes on those pivot points?

This was done on purpose they knew they were not gonna fit and had no issues releasing them like this ! Might if been a deal they made with government

Why does it seem like Leatherman uses the reputation of their warranty to cut corners in quality control? The ARC is their flagship product sold at a premium that is supposed to provide decades of reliable service, so playing with it out of the box should not cause excessive wear like that.

I just cut some sections of sniper tape and wrapped the whole top section of the mag where it fits into the mag well. You just need to be accurate and careful to cut holes for the sprung fittings, but the tape worked perfectly for me. After thousands of rounds and several hundred insertions and extractions of the mag, I refreshed/replaced the tape and away I went again. No glue, no fuss, no drying time or Dremel/sanding. The advantage of the tape was it also removed all side to side movement of the mag when inserted. The original 10 round mags feed perfectly as do the two BX15 mags I have. The BX25 was terrible originally, but the tape trick worked fine. Now my 1022 is fitted with an Arthur E Brown M1 carbine stock, iron sights again, and I bought two new 10 round mags and then epoxied the Arthur E Brown dummy polymer M1 carbine mags onto the bases of them to complete 'the look'. It does look pretty cool and is a handy little 'replica' M1 carbine. (Living in the UK, we cannot own live action M1 carbines!! So my 1022 is the closest I will ever get!) and the advantage of the dummy mags is they provide an excellent handle for loading and unloading the 10 round magazines into the rifle. I have retired my BX25!!

Ruger should hire you, seeing as nobody at Ruger knows how to design a reliable mag.

1:34 You aren't serious are you? The original 10 round mag is a ROTARY (10 rounds in a circle) How do you recommend they do that with 25 rounds while only being as "big" as you are suggesting? Anything over ten rounds has to be oriented linearly so line up 25 rounds on your table, measure the length and get back to me.

I'm going to be sending mine in for warranty. Am I supposed to remove the removable wire cutters like you did before sending it in? Thanks.

Had a P4, never had this issue, now i have a P2 and the Arc, no issues at all and i fidget the F K out of them... don't know what happens to yours.

Strange this issue wasn't noticed in the Free series but crops up in the Arc.

They robbed their customers is what they did. I bet this will B.S.s a major course for all of these tools. I just got mine and I noticed this was a weak point after opening it a few times. I love my Arc but I doing think it’s as dependable as my Surge

interesting. i had a look at my Arc, mine are ever so slightly worn out, but not as bad as the one in video. i will keep monitoring mine from now on, great video.

Interesting, I just checked my P4 and only 1 of 4 has some wear on it. I too play with opening mine, (every day since Oct). Maybe it is a heat treatment issue. I have to disagree w you on the P4 toolset but that’s ok 😄

Oh man, I just checked my Arc and it is wearing down the exact same way, more so on one side than the other. And sure enough, it just happens to be on the side where that particular plier handle disengages much more easily when closing the tool. That side doesn't make a loud satisfying snapping sound anymore. It's a very dull muted sound now compared to the other side.

I like them as well but they don’t inspire me with a lot of confidence. I see them more light duty compared with other platforms like Wave/Surge and Rebar/ST

You had a soldering iron right there. Just stipple that bar area. And it would have filled the gap without the glue. I have done this with the internal of an AR stock to take slop out. Prevent rattling. If it too tight just sand a little until fits to your liking. And nothing in between to come off. Or jam.

Good demonstration and you have discovered a problem with the testing standard. Instead of giving the average lumens over the discharge period the testing standard allows the manufacrurers to quote the peak lumen output at 30 seconds. This means the value given on the package can be double, triple, or even more times the actual average output of the light. There are very few lights that have an average output that is more than 80% of the peak value. There is no way Ithat I am aware of to know the average output of a light without testing it in an optical lab. Your light may meet the standard but the standard itself is stupid.
