Peach Cold Process Soap - Product Launch Countdown
The second soap in my series, this focuses on a simple cold process soap design to allow the beautiful peach fragrance to shine.
These will be launched to the UK and USA (sorry, elsewhere, this is due to regulations and I will expand into other countries when possible) on Friday 30th August 2024 at 5pm BST / 12noon EST.
These are in extremely limited runs right now, so be sure to be online when the site opens for the launch at that time to be able to grab one. Baskets aren't saved, so it's first to checkout who gets the product (that's just how Shopify works, sorry!).

Hi looks good, but ther is no recipe can you write it?😊
Formulas are on Patreon like I mention in the video. Link is in the description.
Thanks for this chat. I tremendously enjoyed it. I can relate about being lonely as someone who is starting my own skincare business. I have binge-watched your vidoes from the 3 of you the past 5 months
I’m glad you enjoyed it, thank for watching. We’ve another one coming soon :)
Hi, do you ever find that the magnesium hydroxide tends to stay lumpy? If so how do you get around this? Thanks
It has a really high melting point so only really disperses in this mixture. I’ve not noticed it being lumpy though.
@@revegacosmetics thank you for the reply. Maybe im putting it in too late in the mixture. I'm melting all the "wet" ingredients then adding the dry. I'll try the way you showed combining everything before melting.
@@jonathanmason7788 Maybe. Adding it with the wet may help it disperse better. It may be work checking what equipment the manufacturer suggests using too and use that if you have it.
@@revegacosmetics thank you I will check. Can I ask, please, where do you source your Magnesium from?
@@jonathanmason7788 I got mine from Soaposh in the UK

So glad you enjoyed it and that we could help in some way :)
Thankyou for sharing thos video. I'm trying to find the recipe but haven't been able to. Where do i fint it, please?
It’s linked in the description.
Where can i find the formula for this sugar scrub?
Mine is on my Patreon linked below the video.
Just what I was looking for. Thank you!!!
Thank you for the formula!
I have been using it for a couple of years now, and I love it. You still have to be careful with really watery solutions, as it can still crystallize. It is great in surfactant products, too.
Good to know about surfactant products as I want to do a cleanser with it next.
This is so superb for me. And thank you for tutorial. I love it. Will try to make one sooner.
❤❤❤
Its enough to make anyone wanting to have a small home business decide not to. The hoops you are expected to jump through are completely excessive and only exist in the UK and EU, nowhere else in the world do they actively create a scenario of failure for the individual. The home craft maker should not be made to adhere to the same exacting and extensive legalities as say L'oreal, they have teams of lawyers and chemists paid to do the paperwork, how on earth are the home crafters expect to do the same. Only in the EU and UK is creativity taxed. Some of the legislation here in the UK has relaxed from the EU now because of Brexit, we can only hope more 'backing off' is on the way. I have my business, I do it full time and get a good wage out of it but without exaggeration the paperwork takes up 1/3 of my working week (this does not include the paperwork for HMRC), it's just not acceptable. In 6 years I have paid a little over £12,000 in assessments, no other place in the world outside of the EU and UK demand payment for creativity, its a tax by any other name.
I both agree with you and also think there still needs to be some sort of process in place to protect customers. To ensure that products are made safely. How we’d do that more affordably and accessibly for smaller creators I’m not sure, but it would be a great discussion to have, as right now, you are right. It is excessive. I try to bridge the gap and make it a little easier with my videos, templates etc and putting creators in touch with individuals and other businesses who can help make the journey a bit quicker and more affordable.
@@revegacosmetics: I believe a portal is needed and should be promoted for all products, full transparency of what is being sold and what is in a product should be available to all authorities that may need to scrutinise that product particularly for items where someone may have had an allergic reaction as a for instance. Makers should be totally and completely responsible for what is on the label under the law. An assessor looks at what you have submitted and takes your word for it, they do not break down the item and chemically analyse it for authenticity, they just accept what you have said is in the product and bill (excessively) you for the privilege, this needs to be stopped as it does not enhance the safety of anything. Also the labeling required for fragrance and essential oils is nonsense in it present format. Why would you need to tell anyone that the candle you sell needs to be dispose of the in accordance to your local authorities specifications? Why would you have to inform anyone that local wildlife maybe in danger if you use this diffuser? The fragrance warning are for those who hold and sell whole bottles of fragrance and the safety requirements needed when handling whole concentrated containers of fragrance and essential oils, it doesn't apply to the 8% of Blackberry & Bay fragrance oil in your candle or the 3% Lemongrass essential oil in your room spray. Way to many lobbyists in Brussels making jobs for themselves if you ask me.
@@revegacosmetics Product safety and labelling is paramount and for this the portal is a great way to do this. All cosmetic products should be uploaded to the portal with an exact ingrediencies list including weights and methods. All products suppliers and batch codes should be uploaded for traceability as should IFRA certificates. The label should also be included and the maker should be solely responsible under the law for what is on the label in the event a product needs to be scrutinised at a later date. Labelling for candles, diffusers and room sprays etc should not have to include the fragrance handling safety data. This data is for all people selling and receiving fragrance and essential oils in concentration such as you when you buy a bottle of fragrance oil. The handling safety information is for the maker not the end user of the product containing fragrance oil. Why would anyone buying a room spray containing 3% fragrance oil need to now about local disposal requirements or protective clothing? All assessments need to be stopped. The main purpose of an assessment is safety but unfortunately the assessor is only required to take your word for what you say is in the product, the product its self is not broken down in a lab and analysed to ensure what you say is correct, therefore assessments do not provide any safety at all. No country outside of the UK and the EU demand a home maker to pay for an assessment, they only expect, under legislation, that the label be accurate and hold the maker solely responsible if it is not.

Any thoughts on the recommended ask for laundry detergent? I’m having difficulty finding anything
I’ve not made any so I couldn’t really say with any certainty. However, 5% ASM would be a good place to start and adjust depending on how economical or powerful a cleanser you need it to be. Take into consideration chelating agents, preservatives and any conditioning agents and how they may affect it. Best thing to do it experiment with different levels until you find a level that produces the results you want.
💛
Next on the list of soap!!
I've never seen deodorant bottles that fill from the bottom! That makes things a lot easier. I bought some zinc rincinoleate and never got around to using it. it's still just sitting there. lol
Yeah, they're great bottles. They give a really professional finish. Haha! I have loads of ingredients sitting there waiting, I'm trying to get through them :)
This is amazing! I really have been looking into mostly natural deodorants and this has come at the best time for me! ❤
Glad I could help :)
Thanks!
Aw, thank you! Glad you found it useful 😊
Does its texture change after 24 hours? I hope it doesn't change? I really want to try it!
It will firm up a bit, but not too much. Depends a lot on temperature and how much sugar you use too.
can i sell my own lipsticks as a small buisness like selling it to relatives, and friends?
If you do all the regulatory stuff yes.
I have an aloevera gel, made in India and approved in the UK by an UK lab ( Due CPSR certification received for the variant). My question is, can I use a sticker to add, UK Contact person - which would be my UK company. The sticker would be on top of the existing tube sticker, which confers all of the labelling requirement as per CPSR. Your guidance on the issue is highly appreciated. Cheers, Lokesh
You’d need to ask the CPSR assessor and/or trading standards. The RP needs to live in the country the product is being sold.
@@revegacosmetics thanks for your reply and help. Yes I do have earned a residency permit for the UK.
I’ve purchased an assessment for a water based cream where the testing has already been done (MAF cosmetics). I’m wondering whether I need to do this TVC testing legally? I think I will anyway, for my own piece of mind, but wondered whether it was a legal requirement to do random tests over time? It doesn’t state anything on the CPSR, just to follow GMP. Also, with a water based product, how quickly will yeasts and mould start to grow…could you test something that was made a few days prior? The CPSR states PAO of 6 months. Thanks.
No, the tests only need to be done once, as MAFs lab will have deemed the products preservative effective in a range of temperatures, so as long as it's made as per their CSPR and instructions, it should be stable. But, as you mentioned, it is good to test each batch yourself. With the dipslides I link to, then you'd get a result on the yellow side within 24-48 hours and the Yeast and mould takes longer, sometimes up to a couple of weeks to form if there is any.
@@revegacosmetics thanks, this is really helpful…I will still test my product for my own peace of mind, but grateful to know I’m legally compliant 😊. It’s a wonderful recipe with some flexibility as to which emulsifier to use…so I now need to order the other two to test which gives the best skin feel. The glyceryl stearate & PEG 100 with cetearyl turned out well…but there was a little bit of soaping, so I’m going to try Ecomulse with Cetyl alcohol, and maybe the GS a& PEG 100 again with Cetyl to see if that makes a difference 😀. I can only seem to get Ecomulse from Bay House with a minimum order spend of £50…so time to order more SCI powder 🙈😂
So excited to try this! My only concern is that the stearic acid I have is granular in texture and yours looks powdery. Do you think it will still work?
I'd imagine so as long as it melts. I've not used the granular version, so can't say for sure. Maybe try melting separately before adding.
@@revegacosmetics That's a good idea. I'll try that. Thank you.
I added Citric acid in last after adding Salt but shampoo got thin after adding citric acid....what's the problem and how to avoid it?
pH can affect viscosity in these types of products. Next time try adding less citric at a time and stop when it’s at an acceptable pH whilst still the viscosity you want. Viscosity changes can happen due to lots of factors, so it’s best to experiment with how much salt you add, pH and the fragrance and any additions you use. I test things one by one to isolate the issue and go from there.
Thank you...I added 2% salt and 0.5% Citric acid....but I will try to add salt in the last after adding all the ingredients and citric acid too...then will see..how the results come.... And one more thing...in another batch, all the things were good like viscosity and all but after 4-5 days...it's got thin again What may be the problem?@@revegacosmetics
@@09047499351 I honestly couldn't tell you. You'd need to do some testing to isolate the cause like I mentioned.
I love salt bars they give a natural colour pale pink colour and i use them as scrub bar love their lather it lathers great 🧼🫧. But i want to try them with scent .
I love a salt bar and Himalayan pink salt is just so pretty ! Pink clay works beautifully but it wouldn’t get the lovely peachy colour you have there ❤

Brilliant video as always 🎉 what would you say have been your biggest challenge with Preservative ECO in testing phase? I'm having a hard time finding other alternatives that are COSMOS approved
Honestly, I've not had issues with it. I'd say to use the max recommended percent for the product your are making. The scent is a bit of a challenge if you don't like the smell of almonds. It's worth checking out ISCA cosmetic testing as they have some preservatives that may help you.
