Hows the xj been doing since the head swap and new gasket ?

I started watching this and thought this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. At the end, I immediately ran out to my 2001 XJ and became overwhelmed with disappointment when I saw it was manufactured Feb 7, 2001. I got a Torx but you knew that. Sorry I couldn't help bro.

Wow I just now stumbled upon this. I just dropped $500 on new rear springs for my '00 along with control arms bushings etc from RockAuto. I experienced DW on I-41 near WI-21. I almost shit my pants. I back home for this weekend; I'll try your fix first before doing the rest. I'll see if I can do a full send on recreating the DW.

So I used 14ga + 10amp fuse and wired my TDR following the D&E video diagram, but I grounded to my battery. Last night, I stopped somewhere for a few minutes, hit the switch, the fan did it’s thing, I tried to start the car a few minutes later and everything shut off. Seemed like the car shorted out. Instantly went under hood, no smoke, no fire, no melted wires, fuse still intact. I wasn’t getting any power. Wiggled my battery a bit and saw a spark. I guess the negative terminal was loose. Still no power. 5 minutes later, I had power. No idea what caused it. I’m looking at all the connections and wires again now, still looks good. My best guess is it wasn’t a good ground connection? Hesitant to reconnect again. Any input is appreciated. I’ll update if I can figure out what caused this. Also, I’m watching this video thinking it’s years old haha but it’s only a few weeks. Strangely comforting knowing someone can be going through same issues as you. 😂

My Comanche came stock as a 2wd, when I couldn't sell it for even $500, I lifted it and put a np231 in it and that lasted for 3 years but the transfer case eventually blew when the factory linkage did something bad to it while I was driving offroad. When I rebuilt it, it lasted another year but when I rebuilt the engine to a 4.6 stroker, the 231 blew again. After that I bought a 242, which has a stronger planetary gearset and wider chain and it hasn't had a single issue with it since.

I have the chance to buy a rust free one owner no accident 99 sport 2 door with 4wd 90k miles but he wants 15k 😂. It’s the color I want and it’s stock. Looks really really nice but it’s just hard to justify spending that much for one.. I know the prices are expensive especially for the nice ones but I’d feel better if it was 10-12k. I also feel like how often do you get a chance to buy nearly exactly what you want? Like they are only getting more and more rare. I also wish it had like 50-60k miles but what can you do. It’s pretty amazing that it has a 5 speed, up country suspension. Is a sport, no rust, stock and in the color I want. What do you think? It hard because I bought a 1 owner no accident stock rust free 2006 wrangler x with 7k miles for 20k a few years back. So when you compare it to that. I’d be buying a 6 year older vehicle with 80k more miles for 5 grand less.. I know the xjs are rare but it’s just hard to justify it even though I want an xj in my collection lol
