Finished this one, and really enjoyed it. It was a bit stressful and tedious doing the mechanical parts, then testing to make sure everything worked as intended. The key is to test everything as you go. Make sure the right stuff moves before moving on to the next step. I also learned that it's usually a good idea to wax the surface of the gears, not just the teeth, since they'll usually be positioned between two other pieces.

Мы с сыном собирали неделю! По несколько часов в день. Практически все детали пришлось вбивать друг в друга небольшим молоточком 😅 пара деталий поломались, когда доставали их из панели - клеили супер-клеем. Зацепить резинки - оказалось самым простым действием. В итоге, работает, только когда мы насильно крутим ключ - сами по себе детали не крутятся. Заводишь - и он стоит, крутим ключ в ручную, чтоб все двигалось

Looking forward to this. I'm thinking of painting some of the lighter wood bits to look like brass, but I don't know how it might affect the gear mechanisms. Guess I'll find out!

I found that instrument cork grease works very well. I am a saxophone player and had extra but you can find easily online.

The clock stopped permanently Avery View minutes. I tried to solve the Problem, but IT Costed me days. Now IT works!! You only have to waxe the Frontside of part 27 (Page 10). IT IS Not enough to Just Sand IT. Sry for the Bad autocorrection. I'm from Germany and lazy to Change the language 😅

A pretty good model, although a bit repetitive to build. You build the dice cups the exact same way 4 times before you assemble the tower, but it does provide a few good stopping points. I've also built models in the past that have included a poke stick, to help push parts out of the sheet. One wasn't included here, but I used a leftover one from a previous set. Be sure to wax the mechanical parts, as instructed, for best results. A stick of wax was included for this, but a tea candle works as well. If you want to get a feel for how the parts break free from the sheet, maybe try start by pushing out some of the spare parts first, or start with the included mini-build (a 0-99 dial counter). The tower itself looks pretty good, and the mechanical function (the flicking lids) is addictive to look at. I've found myself dropping dice down it casually, just to see it work. It's also modular, so you can make the tower shorter, or even make two identical towers. Only complaint is the width of the catch tray. It handles 2-3 dice fine, but trying to drop 5 dice at once (like in a game of yahtzee) occasionally results in them spilling out the edges. Forget trying something like Tenzi (10 dice) with it. I know it's meant for DnD, but even my parents, who only play casual games, were impressed by it. I could see it working with any board game. If you want to customize it further, painting should be viable. If you paint it pre-assembly, you'll need to sand the connection joints. Sandpaper is included. Paint is not. I'd recommend painting after it's been completed. Overall, I'd recommend it as both a model to build, and a functional gaming accessory. The build was relaxing, especially once I got to the 3rd and 4th cup, where I knew the process. The final product will be a good talking point when I break it out during game night. It'll either be used as 4 dice cups, 2 towers, or one large tower, depending on the game.

I can't figure out why my wheels won't spin as smoothly as yours... I've been doing everything right I thought but nothing moves smoothly. This is frustrating.

Hello, I bought the tanker truck for my first model from UGears. It was hard 😅 BUT, it was amaaazing, thank you for this beautiful masterpiece of engineering ! Tip for new constructors: do NOT hesitate to put a LOT of wax between the parts of mechanisms, I learned it the painful way 😅
