For sure we weren't the first vloggers to go, and we won't be the last. However considering tourism for the country as a whole (pre-covid), let alone those who make it to this train, the numbers of foreigners are negligible. It is absolutely a hidden gem within Africa.
I am mauritanian my father spent almost 15 years as the chief of railway department on which you were travelling, I also worked there for the last 3 years. When I see you guys coming from all over the world to do that crazy trip inside a car filled with iron ore, yeah it's quite a journey and the visiting of chinguitti, terjit....etc. Where our ancestors used to live it just makes everyone here proud and happy. Wow, I missed that news, but I can see how that makes sense as this building is basically a lost cause. Yes, the Königsberg Castle would be a great tribute to old times. But I also think that, ironically, this new brutalist beast has itself became history as well - telling the tale of the ineffective yet ambitious USSR and then the Russian Federalists' neglect.

Is your train journey from choum to Nouadhibou or from Nouadhibou to choum ?
We left from Choum and rode it, as you can see on top of the iron ore, towards the Nouadhibou station and harbour. Otherwise, you'd be in empty carriages which is far more uncomfortable and you would have less view on the landscape since you'd be at the bottom of the cars. Of course, the only downside of what we did, is how dirty you'll get.

However, that can be difficult if the norm world-wide is referring to cities in a certain way. I changed the description to include Kyiv and Odesa, but I can't change it in the video (once it's uploaded, it's forever) and the title also remains as it was, for clarity towards the majority of CZcamsrs.
