Wow that '68 cut a perfect light. At competitions back in my day the track would award a cash prize for whoever had a .500 or perfect start for that day's competition. It wasn't always won and would build up until someone cut a perfect light.

I think all these recent videos that don't tell the results are ridiculous. It doesn't much matter who actually won I love both cars but to me if you're going to show a begining you should show an end or at least post the results. Yes I want my cake and be able to eat it to. Call me crazy but.

Either the 5.0 had one hell of a handicap or his reaction timing needs a lot of practice! The 289 was at 60 ft. before 5.0 took off lol!🤷‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙋‍♂️

had a 65 convertible gt hipo 299 4spd.,411 gears . had engine built into a sprint car motor! the guy who did the build built sprint car and dirt track race motors and he said he built it the same way and they made about 425 hp. this was in 1974.beat a lot of muscle cars with that motor!

I have a 2019 GT. I’ve also had an ‘86 GT. The sound of the old 289, 302 and 351w sounds way better than the modern coyote motors.

I have a 1987 LX Mustang with a solid roller cam 347, C4 with 4000 stall converter, 8.8 with 4:10’s. I’m a Chevrolet guy through and though but even I know, Foxbody is hard to beat and mine shits all over the new stuff on the street!

Modern engines sound fake. A x pipe and straight through mufflers make them sound real.

So many guys are so quick to throw a 5.0 roller motor in their mustang. The 289 is an absolute beast that loves to rev. I think the 289 and the 327 Chevy are the most exciting v8s ever made. And the 289 is beyond rugged, I’ve owned a lot of them… drove them like an animal and they NEVER break.
