One day last year I spent a few hours at the Allied cemetery at Souda Bay. As a Kiwi, it was important to me. It was a beautiful day and I walked all the rows of Kiwi and Aus soldier's graves, speaking each name aloud. I hoped they weren't all forgotten names. What a fabulously-maintained cemetery and a testament to the Cretan people and their regard for the Allies. If only I had known of the German cemetery, I would have visited there too. I guess it doesn't get quite the same publicity. Whatever nationality, they were all just young men being used in war.

Why aren't they on the maps??

Nicely kept cemetery; True, some horrible things were done by Nazis but the average soldier (probably) didn’t care much for the whole ideology, but more to make ends meet. Regardless a soldier is a soldier (with exception of terrorists) so should be buried honorably.

First of all, it should be noted that a large part of the beaches shown in this video are not in Chania! They are located for half an hour and most of them an hour or an hour and a half away from Chania! Verify the videos uploaded by random people so that after landing there will be no disappointment if you expect a stationary and not a traveling stay. I am officially reporting the guest for misleading content because Chania is not exactly the western shore of Crete. The beaches are really nice.

Начиная с 6 я б за остальные поспорил в звании "лучшие"... Тут скорее красивые, что бесспорно, но вот критерий "лучшие"... И правильней делать 20-ку (нет Marmara, Menies, Agia Apostoli, Marathi, Lisos, Viena, Gialiskari, Kedrodasos, Krios, Katsounotos)
