How to fill Jeep air suspension with compressor air (airmass too low)
So I’ve had this problem a couple times this year and when you repair air suspension on a newer jeep you are supposed to fill it with nitrous.
However, the tool needed is very expensive and not even all dealers have the tool. If you try to fill it with air it will say airmass too low and won’t allow to use the air suspension, the suspension requires 200 psi give or take and normal air compressors can’t supply that.
So I’ve figured out a way to get the cars built in compressor to fill the air suspension to required psi, by filling reservoir with air compressor to 120 psi you can fill entire suspension, all you’re supplying is air mass, the car will pump it to required psi this way.
Tools required are an air compressor, blow gun, and a cheap r134a quick connect fill hose for small cans of refrigerant.

One morning got the message check air suspension immediately… guess the front valves started leaking over night so I’ve been driving my front springs w/o air. Low AF and hard ass ride not good for my front tires wearing at negative camber. Looks kool though 😂

Duralast stud extractor and a blowtorch.
Easiest way to do the job if you turn out lucky the scariest bit is if they break too far in ESPECIALLY when they become flush with the bolt hole that can be scary then you gotta drill into the stud and if you go too far or fuck up the head is junk

I have a 2010 dodge grand caravan and I hear this rattling noise. Every time I go over a bump I’ve taken it to 10 mechanics 15 years experience 25 years experience 35 years experience. Got it diagnose several time all those mechanics are garbage the ones I went to. Any explanation, where that noise could be coming from the rear van?

That top one looks a bit scary you don’t have more of stud like the bottom. Best using a welder to weld bolt heads onto it. Or your lucky if it unscrews with vice grips

@@veruktad2059 some play is normal in turbochargers, as long as they don’t scrape, it is a used one though. There’s specifications on them you can find and measure the runout

This isn't a tool guys. Just remove the jaws off your hand drill and use it for this, then install it back on your drill. Ofcourse removing the bolt is a different issue cause if too jammed the jaws will just slip on the bolt cause you can't apply the proper grab power with this tool. You need something that bites the stuck bolt and not something that will slip cause it will 99% of the time.
That’s not a drill chuck that’s an actual tool made to remove studs it looks exactly like a drill chuck but definitely not had special jaws in it

Broken ones need a nut welded on, if it’s recessed and blind then drill/tap/coil To be honest sometimes if you’re only missing one and it’s not a corner bolt and has bolts on either side, just leave it, can be quite a pain in the ass I’ve also welded together brackets to hold it from a nearby bolt I can get to easily.
So what can happen if you use just air? If it freezes, what's going to happen to the system?

I don’t have a the scanner I need to fill up the nitrogen tank. I don’t have a scammer & can’t move the Jeep it’s down to the tires & the setting to jack the car up is on.

Amazingly it ran, rough idle, little engine noise. Didn’t even show oil pressure light.
When I went to drop his oil nothing came out of the plug 😂

It will be OK if it is warm there all the time. But the shop air is going to put a ton of moisture in the system.

You don't need a compressor to fill the nitrogen reservoir tank. If you have a nitrogen cylinder and a scan tool, the pressure from the nitrogen cylinder is more than enough to properly charge the system. It needs exactly 175 psi as per the shop manual. Filling it with air is a very bad idea. The moisture in air will freeze up in subfreezing temps, causing the system to malfunction. That's why the system is filled with high purity nitrogen......it has no moisture in it to freeze up.
I work at Hyundai myself happens even to new cars as well, they dont get away with the vehicle when it has an immobilizer but they break your window or door cylinder and mess everything up with repairs going over a thousand dollars easily. Will never own a Hyundai or kia.
whoever did this one also managed to break the sunroof too, not even sure what they were doin. I also had another one call me same time I had this in, mangled ignition and broken rear window.
@SLAutoRepair haha yup, thieves are so dumb always breaking random things. We've gotten some with broken sun roofs and the thieves will also steal the lane keep assist camera on the newer ones thinking its recording them or something. If we're not replacing your engine it's coming in for a theft recovery or some other electronic issue welcome to Hyundai!

2012 Elantra. Any Hyundai or kia that doesn’t have an immobilizer or alarm system is liable for this to happen. They have the option people buy them without it
Ask him if he wants to put a hidden kill switch somewhere in there I highly recommend not under the dash

Awesome, thanks for the video. It's exactly what I needed. Have you had anyone come back with a failed pump due to using regular Air vs the Nitrogen? My dealer wants $360 (richmond Va.) just to fill it. I think air should be fine since Mercedes uses the same system and they fill from atmosphere.
Nope, no problems. Harbor freight also sells a compressor that goes to 210 psi for 200$, you can buy and return it. I’ve filled a few like this.
In case you were wondering, you’re gonna want to set it to approx 180 psi if you have a higher pressure compressor. If you have a smaller one you can just fill it this way, then set ride height. Make sure you replace all those little brass fittings you can buy them on Amazon for whatever you replace: they tend to fail one after another

Check the bolts, make sure they’re all tight.
Sometimes the bottom bolt will look tight but won’t be all the way on. Alternatively, maybe defective strut assembly/spring mount
