I recently discovered that he is my 12th great grandfather on my mother’s side. My ancestors eventually fled Acadia, now present day Nova Scotia, during the Great Expulsion. For a good number of years, my ancestors bounced around the east coast hiding from the British. Eventually there was peace between the British and French, and my ancestors returned to Acadia. Eventually my ancestors, the Martins, made their way to Anoka, Minnesota and became successful loggers and farmers
