Really well said, RAs being -15 turns punishment into a blockstun timing minigame. Pretty frustrating to punish with Jet upper, especially online with all the input lag.

Small situations like that can amount to a great deal of improvement, and that's not only Byron specific tech. Sometimes your launch punisher can get you killed due to side wall, sometimes your i15 punisher can whiff or connect at a later frame. If you don't need the 50+ dmg, don't risk going for the combo. Hit that command grab, that heatsmash, that install-boosted string, or if you play one of those privileged chars, that i12-13 wallsplat punisher. Getting whacked from mispunishing a baited RA might be one of the most infuriating things in Tekken, but it can be prevented quite easily.

Nice review. Some quick Zafina things. They changed her ff4 in t8 so it doesn't low crush anymore. She actually can get a combo off CH d3 now without going into MNT. She does WS 3 as the pickup into SCR df1 or something for T!

I bought the Haute42 s16 for 42 dollars. Best controller I've ever used in my 30 years playing fighting games. And I really mean it, this little thing was a total gamechanger for me. It is objectively better than any fightstick, faster and more comfortable than the keyboard, fully portable, easy and cheap to maintain. Truly a gem of a product.

Omg I am so embarrassed about the last match lmao, I only did snake edge a million times because I knew it wouldn't be blocked. I don't remember why I ki charged. I for sure need to use sway 1 and low pokes more, I just get put in a tekken 7 box like you said. I was definitely getting complacent in the poking options that I was doing. A thing I have been asking myself is what am I looking for in options like 4,3, which you pointed out immediately. Thanks so much again you're the best

Well agreed on the Keyboard. In T7, I used play pad, but my thumbs started hurting. When my pad was not available, I played using my mechanical keyboard. I learned that I played the best when I used my keyboard. I'm currently playing on stick, because I enjoy it, but I still think I play better on keyboard. I kbd and wave dash more consistently there. I still have ways to go on stick lol.

Don't spend $200+ until you know you're going to keep playing fighting games. Otherwise, just use what you already have!!!

Chanel vs Yagami was the greatest comeback in Tekken 8 History hands down. What a crazy hype match. Great review. I will say Reina's db2 is actually -3 and launch punishable, which is terrible. However, it's the only low from neutral that she has that also high crushes outside of generic db4, so she has to use it. Also FYI, the situation in the final round of the final match, with Heaven's Wrath 1, there is no cancel or heat requirement for that sequence that led to the kill. As long as Heaven's Wrath 1 connects there on CH, Reina is +17 and the transition into Sentai 1+2 is guaranteed.

It's obvious that this is BIG $$$ and the players are put under tremendous pressure. But this is what I like about Ulsan. You can see that he is playing a lil worse due to pressure, but just A LITTLE. He's still playing super good, movement on point, adapting very fast, and insane movement.

They called me madman and delulu, they suggested me a shrink and copium. But in my heart, I knew it was Ulsan's time, and it was high time. He proved himself against the toughest opponents, he showed both preparation, intellect, respect and dominance. Probably the most "deserved" 300k $ I've seen.

Ulsan said on his twitter that they rented a house together and practiced together in preparation for which probably explains why all of then did so well

this was such a shocking result i am not gonna lie. I think atif doing welll as was predicted did occur. But ulsan had atif's number.... also we got a little more character representation than just drag in the top 8 as well which was surprising. Also yagami fucking cooked.... I was for sure thinking he could do it again against ulsan
