essa canção foi feita nos anos 60 e simplesmente é uma alusão à Guerra do Vietnam.... basta ouvir a letra com atenção... ela fala sobre a morte de soldados norte americanos e a perda da guerra.... Alice é o Recrutador para a guerra... a Rainha Vermelha era Ho Chi Minh e os Guerrilheiros Vietcong.... está lá tudo na canção... depois foi aproveitada para vários outros Filmes de ficção que não tem nada a ver... também nós em Angola, na Guerra Colonial de 1961 a 1975 usavamos droga, a "Liamba" para tentar esquecer-nos do medo que tinhamos e poder enfrentar na mata os Guerrilheiros do MPLA... já nesse tempo ouviamos esta canção e muitos de nós Portugueses também previamos que perderiamos a guerra.... e assim aconteceu....

Saw pictures from my grandma’s brother who died in Vietnam, absolutely chilling, bodies, limbs, letters, etc… he bled out in a mortar attack but the the shrapnel sliced through the part of the brain that controls pain so he wasn’t in pain, according to my grandma, RIP all Vietnam vets, Vietnamese and American

idk why but i keep coming back to this video, it just captures a certain feeling so well edit: i think it's because it captures the conflicted feelings i have when seeing the weapons, vehicles and technology used for war. something about it is so incredible, so awesome, a testament to human ingenuity. but the purpose for it is so terrible, the destruction of lives, families, homes and countries. but at the same time i cannot look away. it is so terrible, but also so beautiful. much like this song being paired with this footage. thank you for the video

Vietnam was such a shit show. Ho Chi Minh studied in the States in the ‘20s and wanted to emulate Washington in throwing off the yoke of a colonial oppressor. The French held indochina for ages. What we should have done was intervene on the side of the Vietnamese - they have no love for other colonial powers (Russia sure, but China specifically) but we had just finished helping liberate the French less than a decade before we started getting involved (‘52) and we “had to contain communism”. It’s hilarious in a dark way. Millions of Vietnamese dead and tens of thousands of Americans, countless more mutilated physically and emotionally, all for the north to sweep south less than a year after we left - and get this, Vietnam and the US are still notable military and economic partners. All that suffering for nothing
