The chestnut blight, Cryphonectria parasitica, was introduced from imported ornamental Japanese chestnuts ca. 1904. It first appeared at the Bronx Zoo in 1905 and spread around 20 miles a year until it was all over the east coast. It has nothing to do with European chestnuts which are also susceptible. European chestnuts are partially protected by an endemic hypovirus that attacks and weakens the chestnut blight fungus.

I remember this being at this event and I remember that alot of people were mainly there to see Elizabeth Warren who was the most prominent democratic candidate at the conference. I thought that she would be the last one out of the four candidates that were there yet she was the third to go and Inslee was the fourth. When she left and Inslee walked on stage, I just remember a sea of people walking out of the room and a friend of mine who was with me remarked that he sounded like Mike Pence, but for some reason he reminded me of Jeb Bush.

So it takes 1/313 the energy of boiling a pot of water to execute a google search. Or, it's the same energy as boiling 3 g (~3 ml) of water that was at room temperature. Like, drops on a pan.
