Getting money for doing nothing is damaging to character building, it leads people to a path of perpetual dependence on others, it weakens the mind and the spirit. Humans are endowed to become more, to accomplish, to achieve, to perform, it is the very nature of our spirits. Look how much has been accomplished by the human mind and work. We created things, machines, computers, cars, airplanes, we built bridges, buildings, we came to this life to become something and accomplish something. The idea of staying in a street and asking for money for doing nothing is damning to the soul. Anyone doing that or suggesting that should wake up to the danger of doing that, it will only delay your own development and progress in this life.

Panhandler leaves for a taxable job, gets a notice of intent to seize levy property for forgetting to pay taxes, cause mindset still with old job, worker goes back to panhandling. Even the irs love panhandlers! 😂ROFL. I work for food delivery services, still can't make a liveable salary, so forget to keep money aside for taxes, and it hurts. Panhandlers don't have any worries.

I've done this for 4 years now between jobs but hopefully will have work after Christmas and all i have been out four hours before and made nothing and i have been out for 5 minutes and a couple gave me $100 so the most i made in a single day $455 for 4-6 hours on christmas eve in 2020 and i was out a week ago on friday and in 3.5 hours made $364 it all depends what GOD allows us to get you never know if you leave to early if you'll miss that big blessing or not it's about Faith in GOD

Best way to help the poor or homeless: Give time and/or money to legitimate organizations whose focus is helping the poor or homeless.

I dont make money panhandling but I do it daily

I'm an amputee wheelchair bound who was a panhandler. I probably make 25 to 35 in four hours. I've had holiday or big event times where I made a hundred or two, but that's once every other month and is super rare. These guys saying people were giving twenty's is bs. I get a 20 once in a great while, very rare. There lucky if they make anything. If a no drug or drinking, legless, wheelchair bound guy makes 30 in four or five hours, then there's no way these guys make hundreds a day. I think they just don't want to admit they sit out there for hours and make 5 or 10 most the time.

One time, I said “no” to a panhandler and he pounded on the hood of my car and cussed me out.

Yeah I know you guys made that much money. I know my co-workers sometimes I live well when I lived in Vegas I live like basically right before you know the actual messed up like homeless Mabel. Like I was that broke. We're like you just pay for like your room and you get food stamps and then the food stamps aren't enough cuz you can't pay for your food so then you get like what's it called food donations you know like those food pantries. And then you're so broke you can't even like it like a bus pass so then you try and make up like medical appointment so then you can get free bus passes you go anywhere you can to find a free bus pass. Like that broke. Like the only thing you can afford is rent kind of like lifestyle.and the thing was when I was working in Vegas. Many of my co-workers were pretty much in the same situation. Getting cut a lot at work. We're not having a lot of work and then other people getting suspended because maybe they falsified a survey because he wanted to stay longer. However it may be but I would see them on the corner begging to make ends meet basically. But they would be pretending they were homeless or whatever. Yeah and I remember one lady even said she made more on the corner begging for money than actually going to work. I never did it because I mean like you have to have your shame all the way down to the bottom. And I would do it if I knew that the next thing was to sleep outside. Of course you would do it then. Because me and you're shame is going to be all gone anyway we can go to sleep

Always offer a panhandler a job first. Then food or shelter. Money should always be last if not at all. Money feeds thier problem. My system for weeding out the untrustworthy ones.

One weird thing about Panhandling for me being a white man black people would give me money at a higher percentage than white people. You would think it be the other way around. It was weird to me.

I know it looks decent from this standpoint but even this standpoint doesn’t look comfortable you gotta imagine these guys were ready for this reporter to come in. They cleaned up and there’s no one in there and even after all that that is best look how it looks could you imagine every box filled with a homeless person at these poor people?

I’m 63 and still working, sometimes outside in the winter as a welder. I work hard for my money. I ain’t giving it out to panhandlers who could just go out and work. If someone works in a cushy climate controlled government office wants to give out their money, go ahead!

Also as a fellow F horn player, I will say making a pitch that high can be quit difficult. Amazing job!

Shameless. I don’t see many panhandlers where I live but they do pop up occasionally, usually at intersections in front of Walmart. Always Walmart. Neither my husband nor I ever give them money. They never stay long. If you make bad choices in life, it’s not society’s responsibility.

I do it if I have to,You can easily make enough money to get a cheap car and get yourself out of your situation .. Last time I was stuck in NOLA .. I stayed at the NOLA RESCUE MISSION FOR 4 days and made enough money to get a 1990’s CAMRY AND get out of NOLA
