A front corner of my 2003 Grand Cherokee 4.7 has been held up by a piece of soft wood decking just under 5" wide by 1+1/8" thick. Our decking is made from cheap wood 10ft of decking cost me £7. The decking stands on 2 bits of 3" by 3"about 10" apart. If the decking was twice as thick, it would be 4 times as strong. If the decking was twice as wide it would be twice as strong. A piece of stress graded 2" by 10" would be more 10 times as strong. If you are still worried, use a piece of stress graded 3 by 10 for the bridge. It will be at least 18 times as strong as my piece of decking. Any questions?

Alleged Timber Strength Conundrum. Yeah, well, there's stronger timber, and there's weaker timber. So it's not a conundrum at all really. Explain to your timber merchant what you want the 2 by 12 span for. Then buy according to his advice. Timber Stress Grading & Identification Visual stress grading allows a means of assessing the strength of a timber in situ. EBS Ltd carries out a visual grading of the timbers classifying then into GS (C16) or SS (C24) grades according to the rules described in BS 4978: 2007 (Softwoods) and BS 5756: 2007 (Hardwoods). My "Fred in a shed" (redneck?) solution is to use angle iron along the sides of the top plank with a bit of cheap and cheerful stuff between them.

43 years Autobody.... I think it’s a GREAT IDEA.... Safty 1st... To Add weld a square steel plate to the jack that the 4x4s can sit on and its great for Soft Ground stops jack from sinking.... there ya go another video for ya :)

Hey thanks man but i have some additional questions and i know there not the right solution to my issue but it is my issue and i choose to deal with it how i wish to deal with it to fir my own needs. With that said i see your very knowlegable and set up to test circuts and pulses etc and have a brilliant mechanical mindset so my question is what would be the workaround for bypassing the pulse and relay directly on that control board so its basically just the opener button and then the adjustments and transmitter have you tried to modify these boards to accomplish this and if so what all does it intail?

Perhaps you can use a cordless Ryobi 1/2" drive impact torque driver for your turning of your jack. Something like 250- 600 ft/lb model should be just fine. Then use it for your other automobile repair use as nothing is wasted.

Wood will split, maybe oak might work just under your jack as a cheater block, but for jack support, I would not recommend wood unless it's a tree trunk.

Идея плохая, дерево ложить нужно под домкрат он будет выше от земли крутить будет удобнее, а колоду можно подставить рядом!
