That looked like a minor volcanic eruption not a hydrothermal one look at the craters left behind the rocks n ash cloud that was volcanic not hydrothermal

When the pressure drops in a geyser vent it allows the water to turn to steam. Steam takes up x1000 times the volume of water. Which leads to explosions like this. Not an eruption. And not rare either.

Sooo... the people next to the explosion just run... and left the toddler behind. How could it be that a CHILD is the last in line? Interesting.

All the plumbing that enabled this to happen blew itself apart. There is certainly no immediate danger of it blowing again if at all the the future. At least in this spot until new plumbing forms but it would take a very long time. This was hot water not magma.

“Everyone needs to get out of here really quickly because we don’t know how safe this is. It could be really really dangerous”- the tour guide. That shows you that this wasn’t normal.

When that’s not a normal thing to happen here why’s everyone stopping to look. As if it went off and they thought “well that must be it.” Not smart at all. What if it went off again even bigger. I mean safety first folks. Cameras and phones come second after for sure safe and also having helped others. Not just those you know personally. Get them out of there. Drag them if have to. Unpredictability means just that. Be smarter. Great video this lady was right to stay back.but I wouldn’t have gone by it again. The parks are beautiful but is it worth it if you’re gone. Know one will know that.

Make no mistake the geologists are going to spend this and lie about this. But there has been a downgrading of earthquakes over the last 3 years in Yellowstone national park. This volcano is way overdue for some type of a volcanic eruption.

There is a family at the end of the boardwalk at the time of the explosion, and it seems that the adults are running away from danger in front of one of their kids. I would want my kids to be in front of me when running away from danger.
