Where was this? What happened?
This was on our French River Canoe trip. My partner fell and broke her wrist.
@@brentandellesoutdooradventures oh I'm surprised Ornge came out for that! Did they treat you on the spot or take him or her to hospital?
@@Knots263 they flew her to the hospital.
Nice looking trip
It had some very fun moments.
Soooooooo quiet ..... wow ....and beautiful. Like there is no people?
It was very quiet when we were there
Why are you referring to Sidney Lake as "Sig Lake"?
I can't find a lake called "Sig Lake" between Kawnipi Lake and Kenny Lake
I can't find any lake in Quetico called "Sig" lake. Are you referring to Sidney Lake as "Sig Lake?"
What were you using for bug repellent because I ve spent time in this area and going sleeveless was never an option ,you must be using motor oil
I probably would if it worked. We just rotate between Muskoil and Ben’s
Thanks. It’s nice to get out and hike sometimes.
Very nice.
Man! I don’t want it to end.
Do you two go every year? It seems so. I need to go more often.
I’ve done my best to go every year. I’m getting older, and want to enjoy it as much as I can
Oh my birth city
I’m glad you two watch out for one another and stick together on the portages. You two are inspiring me to take the harder portages that you have crossed, which I have not.
I often get myself worried leading up to a tough portage, but we have done enough of them now to know that if you just take your time, and make sure to bring enough water, it will be fine.
Your 2023 GoPro video is much better quality than the 2022 trip. Must have had problems with the frame rate or editing on that trip.
Your right. I had the settings wrong on that trip. I was trying to use some manual settings, I find it much better just use the automatic settings.
Is that on McKenzie Bay? Oh, I see this was on Pickerel Lake.
How do you make the red lines draw on your map in your video?
How is your wife on her cell phone? Does she get reception up there? AT&T? Rodgers?
No cell coverage. She uses it for maps that we then compare to the Garmin.
I went this way in 1993 solo. It was a good rough way to go, and it rained on me, all day crossing the 2 mile portage to cache lake 3 times.
That would be a rough haul doing three trips in the rain.
Something is the matter with this particular video, it's jumpy when you pan, like it's low frame rate or resolution. I was watching your other videos and didn't notice this.
This was a huge mistake on my part. I had been messing around with the GoPro settings, and left it set for low light. Messed up a bunch of footage.
Lucky that you beat the fire ban last year, although I understand why it was in place. That Grass River site must be one of the nicest in Algonquin! I must try to get on my that next trip!
I realized after I posted this that this video is from 2022, perhaps there was not a fire ban then!
I'm pretty sure there was later on in June. It is always nice to have fires on the early Spring , or late Summer trips.@@NikonF5user
Love how you made this video with the map and nice descriptions. Really enjoyed!
Thank you.
Awesome'\ Beautiful nature scenery Beautiful view Beautiful video I like it Thank you very much for sharing dear freind
Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
Very well done! Thanks for the shout out :) It was great having you guys visit.
Always a pleasure …. Love visiting you…. Hope it helps❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s a busy spot … but very nice
Love this - leftovers make great meals for the dehydrator :)
Sol is at the start of the naturist section of beach, about 3km long. I stayed at the sol twice, but prefer LasDunas, larger, more food and restaurants and entertainment, still only a 10 minute walk along the beach. The Las Dunas wristband works at Sol, so you can use the palappas, beach chairs, bar service and beachfront restaurant just like you were staying at the Sol.
Is Las Dunas Adults only?
Las Dunas is open for everybody. The resort has figure 8 pathway layout similar to Sol, and the west loop with the active pool has more families than the eastern loop, with the quiet pool. In slower times, like Feb, pretty much everyone is on the west loop, altho I have seen a few on the east loop. When its much busier, like in March, there are more people on the east loop but the west is busiest. I have stayed there 8 weeks in feb and march, it is just as gay friendly as Sol, and the front desk will cater to your requests for specific rooms or areas of the resort, especially if you email a bit in advance. Many of the families are from Argentina and come in multi-generational families. In addition to a 10 minute walk to the nude beach along the beach, there are overland pathways, and for a tip the golf cart guys will drive you to Sol and pick you up.
This is definitely one of our favourite campgrounds as well. It has been awhile though so we will have to make a return trip soon.
It is a wonderful place.
@@brentandellesoutdooradventures what's your favorite part?
Packeshkag is my favorite lake. I spent years paddling and fishing there. Now that the road is closed, you need to portage in. I'm hoping to spend a few days in there this summer.@@Tents.and.Timber
You had some really cool shots. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Never know what you’re going to find on a hike in there.
Great video. I camped for years with my sister and parents. Grundy was just awesome. We always camped at guerd lake. But great fishing on all the lakes. I did a fly in fishing trip this past September and noticed the Grundy lake supply post was gone at the corner. Did they close for good or did they move. I remember Gladys and Dave ran it and then new owners took over years later. Thanks for the memories 😊
The new owners of the supply post ran it in its existing location for a while. Then the Ministry of Transportation bought the land for the upcoming highway expansion, and they moved the supply post down 522, right across from the park entrance. Thanks
nice journey, enjoyed the video. Know the area well, live half the year on the Montreal river just down stream from Mowats Landing. ATB
Must be a great place to have a camp. Thanks
Cheers! Really enjoyed watching your trip. You showedand informed a lot of what I wanted to see and know before setting out on a similar route while not showing too much that I don't want to see it for myself still. Great job.
Thank you.
Hi Brent and Elle, We stopped at your site and chatted with you two when canoeing back from Maple Mountain. Pretty cool to cross paths here again on CZcams. Great video; really enjoyed reliving Temagami during the long winter! James & Jan
That’s so cool you recognized us. It was a great hike up Maple mountain just like you said. Maybe we’ll bump into you again sometime. Happy New Year.
@@brentandellesoutdooradventures You never know! Happy New Year
Nice trip! Enjoyed watching it. I was wondering on how you two like the bean boots for portaging?
Very nice for portaging. Best boots yet.
Great video! looks like an awesome trip and great capture on the trail camera, we have always said it would be find to bring trail cam on one of our adventures. We will definitely be adding on into our 2024 canoe trips.
To be fair, I started bringing a trail camera on canoe trips 3 years ago. We thought for sure that we would finally get to see all the animals that wandered around our site at night. This is the first time it’s actually caught anything. We did catch some rabbits on it the following evening. But that’s all.
Your bug free mesh tent looks good. What brand is it and where did you get it?
It is a Eureka No bug zone. We bought it at Outdoors Oriented in St. Catharines
Thank you for taking us with you. It’s so pleasant to recognize the campsites and views. I love those lakes.
Same here. I like looking back on these too.
Very nice video covering most of the same scenery I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Brings back many memories of solo trips, and those with several buddies in the past. As I am approaching 63 years of age, I am thrilled to see adventurers like yourselves living life to the max, and not shying away from the challenges of the outdoors. Inspiring.
Thank you. I'm doing my best. Trying to enjoy the outdoors as long as I can.
I stayed at that site with the big tent, used it to keep my gear dry. And then we had the changing of the Seasons festival the next day. Must have just missed you by a couple of days or so. Cheers!
I actually considered setting up under the tent.
On my first trip in Temagami, we stayed at the site at the north end of Obabika, right near the portage, for two nights. Two of the most beautiful nights of my life!
Obabika is a definitely a special lake
We have done this trip taking in Maple Mountain each time.
We did hike Maple Mountain on the way back. A great hike.
The Pictographs were amazing @@brentandellesoutdooradventures
Some of the nicest we have seen@@rumcmilfordchristchurches776
Really nicely done - I love the simplicity of your approach. Represents tripping so well.
Thank you.
Great video series. That first un-named lake is one of the few I know of in Quetico with Largemouth Bass, which you caught a few. I finally made it there in 2017 after first hearing about it almost 20 years ago.
It was interesting to travel through them all and see the different fish, when they would bite.
My wife and I are 60+, and have just (re) discovered canoe camping. Enjoyed watching your excursions
Thank you. I was hoping that people our age might see these and realize it can still be done. Not that we’re working as hard as we did at 20, but if we’re careful and take our time we can still enjoy some amazing backcountry locations.
I did my first solo, 5 nights, July 2022 at age 62, done about 6 trips since then. hooked
I've been fortunate to find a partner that enjoys canoe tripping with me. I did some solo tripping earlier in life, when I was a bit younger. I may try some again one day. Solo is a much different experience. @@timothyreid3061
