Great song from the Bridear ladies. I very much enjoyed Haru doing her harsh vocals.

I do think the vocals could have been a little louder as well. Kimi has a unique and fantastic voice. They went to Sweden to have Fredrik Nordström record this album for them. He has a reputation for working with some top tier bands. I think the album came out great overall.

I agree. It is definitely not their best song, but still really good. I do love all their albums, but out of this Kyrie/Gloria (feat Julien from Benighted) and Ain't Death Grand are surely the better songs (with official video) to check out 🤔

I enjoyed it at first listen, but listened again with headphones and daaaaamn that was "filthy" bass. Loved the contrast between that heaviness and her voice

As a Dutchman, I think I don't sound silly when I say that I'm a little proud of the female metal singers we have. This is another example of a very good singer. The female singers we have here who are successful are mostly all classical. Very melodic. I agree with you where you say that it was musically quite heavy and that the voice is unexpectedly soothing. But it works.

These guys formed Nestor as teenagers but it was a garageband, a good one. then adult life put the band on hold for a lot of years. their comeback a few years ago was very successful and I love it. I am how ever a bit biased since their hometown is 20min away here, I have seen them live and they perform great.

I loved that! Every turn it took, and her voice carrying it, is amazing. This will be several go through several listens for me. I happily look forward to turning off the Core motorway.

The singles are not part of an album, we're using those two songs to bridge between our first album (Ocean Paradox Chapter I) and the second since the band's line-up and sound has been drastically changed. That track is from the Plague Within, which is probably their second or third best album, after Icon and Faith Divides us. It's just pure gold.

Guitar player has a video tutorial for this entire song.... riffs, solos, everything. Does a great job of it, too. He really seems like a cool dude.

I love the music. It goes anywhere. And yes, I struggle quite a bit with the cleans, but I have that most of the time with metal core(ish) bands. Still I see/hear a lot of potential.

I've always believed that variety is the spice of life. But I tend to choose chilli instead of vanilla. As a fairly alternative person even back in the 80s, this type of music was never my cup of tea. The bit in the video where they all raise their bottles - Coke ad.

I'm a huge fan of '70s Aerosmith and detest '80s Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, and Journey. This song gave me PTSD, everything I hated about '80s rock. This is the type of song that would have a really bad movie montage playing behind it. I'd be happy to never hear this type of rock again. Honestly 70s Aerosmith - Lord of the Thighs, Toys In the Attic, Back In the Saddle, Sweet Emotion, Lick and a Promise - is a world away from 80s Aerosmith - Angel, Love in an Elevator, Crazy, Pink.

I remember sitting in my room in the 80's and early 90's to check out bands. It all began with Van Halen. Journey was also a band I checked out. Nestor wasn't. Time went on and I grew in (as you will know by now) into (melodic) death and subgenres close to that. Let's hope that 'the birth of Death Pop' is swiftly followed by the death of Death Pop - as a superfluous genre. To me, that was Goth - Metal and, needless to say, 100% Paradise Lost. I loved the song. Great combination of harsh and clean vocals, great melodic sections - a winner in my book.

Mentioning all those names at the start got me interested, made me assume more doomy stuff, which I'd have been fine with. But bringing up "death pop" made me think immediately of Lord Of The Lost, and I could see that comparison to an extent as well, it's definitely got a bit of a catchy vibe to it that the Doom background doesn't normally provide

😄 Saw Paradise Lost yesterday as the finisher of a three days festival. This one could easily have been added to the setlist. Talking about this festival, German Endseeker (deathmetal); Belgian Brutus (black metal influenced and a bit psychedelic) and Scottish DVNE were absolutely out of this world. Glad I'm still alive... Lovely dark. The vocal harmonies fit so well. Waking up now from the first night of Into The Grave. I can imagine to wake up more boring. Still two days to go. Saw Fear Factory, Crypta (quite an energetic band), Mars Red Sky (in terms of musicality quite the same vibe as the song I just listened to. I've been a fan of doom-metal since I discovered Draconian many moons ago. This was great. I loved the guitars and the general atmosphere of the song and the harsh vocals. Good one Timo & Hedgy.

Love good doom and this is great doom. My bandcamp order is ready and I'm downloading it now. This will be an all night doomfest, as festive as doom can be I guess?
