Footnotes:
Over the past few months I've been completely overtaken by home and garden projects - most being completely foreign to me but all in need of their own sort of reverence (replenishing depleted soil, creating a greenhouse, starting native plants from seed to support my local pollinator habitat, home repairs, a library build..etc). For me, this meant a deep dive into research, troubleshooting, patience, and a great deal of faith. But everything I've done up to this point has been so strongly put on my heart to do, and I’m no longer in a season of questioning why, but instead, simply being present within it and doing the things that have been laid before me.

Footnotes: It's my first Spring in the Hudson Valley and I'm quickly nearing a year of fully transitioning to a slower, simpler, and more meaningful life. To witness the cyclical nature of things - seeing it in its many phases - from bursting with life in summer, to it dying back in winter, to now - watching it reawaken this spring.. feels like a sacred act. *Please note that you can enable/adj...

Footnotes: We're nearing the end of dormant season here in the Hudson Valley - that special time of the year when winter and spring collide; freezing nights but warmer days, and so much rain, all acting as a sort of trinity for spring's arrival. This past week I've been *responsibly* tapping maples in my backyard, collecting just enough to last me a year, which was about 40 gallons of sap boile...

Footnotes: Thank you for joining me for another beautiful snowy day in New York's Hudson Valley as I navigate winter as an introvert. Despite rarely having guests, I find so much joy in the everydayness of things and in my own company - I somehow never feel lonely. Not to mention the endless sources of inspiration that I find in the most mundane of things. Between taking care of the land and wo...

Footnotes: I'm experiencing my first winter full-time in Upstate New York, which has come with many of the challenges one would expect, come winter. However, unlike past winters, this season, I am practicing and leaning into the Art of Wintering; fully understanding that there is no rebirth without death. For me, this looks like letting go of things not meant for me in order to welcome and allo...

I love your videos! I was so excited when I saw you did a new one. Your garden and yard is so lush and green I love it!!! ❤❤
So glad to see you again!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful video. Love your way of life!
@@Anne-yw6ed Thank you, sweet one!
So glad to see you back! I love your videos, but just one thing - the yellow text on screen was really hard to read a lot of the time and I missed most of it. Such a beautiful video though, so green and lush! 💚
@@Lily_Autumn I appreciate you so much! The yellow text is embedded, and there is an additional option for black and white larger subtitles/captions, which you don’t seem to have turned on. Click the gear symbol and turn on subtitles for an easy read. ❤️❤️❤️
@@sierraodessa Ahh thank you, I had no idea! 😅 I will do that! Looking forward to your next video already! 🥰
@@Lily_Autumn haha, yes! Or just press 'CC' on the vids bottom right. - Looking forward to sharing more! Thank you again.
I moved from NYC to the HV during the pandemic and I also get super emotional when the seasons change out here. Every change is so.... big. I like your voice as well. It definitely matches the vibe of your videos. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
It’s so close to the city but really feels like a world away, doesn’t it? It’s truly a transcendent experience! Thank you so much for your vulnerability and for sharing! 🤍
I LOVE that watering can - what a great shape! 😍 Would you mind sharing what you did/used to remove the rust please? I have a set of vintage metal kitchen canisters that I’ve been meaning to restore, but keep putting it off, out of fear of ruining them! 😢
Isn’t it great!? 😍 I soaked it in 2 parts white vinegar & one part water overnight then used a super fine grit steel wool pad for scrubbing. Once the rust was removed I used Brasso for polishing. 🤍
@@sierraodessa Thanks so much, I’ll give it a try! 💝
@@Lily_Autumn Good luck! 🥰
@@sierraodessa Thanks, lovely! ☺️💓

Who's playing the mandolin?
I wondered if you would make another video.
I don’t plan to stop. :) I’m already working on next weeks video! ♥️
Thank you for at the end of your videos sharing the unwrapping and paging through one of your beautiful new photo books - it somehow draws one even further into your world. I am also in awe of the maple syrup-making!
Anne - the photobooks have been a major part of my life for the last decade, especially. Sometimes the only inspiration available to me when my surroundings weren't enough; before I was able to see beauty in the everydayness of my own life. I appreciate you for being here and for watching until the end. Thank you! ❤
I’d give this 10 thumbs up if I could.❤
Thank you so much, Louise!
Oh my gosh, I just happened upon your videos. I live in CA and have always been intrigued with upstate New York. I look at photos or videos that I kind find about Upstate New York or Pennsylvania too. I have no idea why I’m so intrigued and want to go visit one day. Now I found your videos and I started watching one after another and shared it with my daughter lol Love your content ❤ It so relaxing. 🤗🥰

That floor and your new carpet are beautiful ! You've created an amazing channel and it's very inspirational. An added bonus is your gorgeous furry friend and seeing the love you share 💜🐾💜
Thank you so much for being here! 🥰 New video will be posted this week. 🤍
Your experiences really resonate. Having gone thru numerous challenges I thought would break me, I now find myself in new peaceful place surrounded by whispering woods, deep lakes & stunning wildlife. Sometimes it's the hardest, hurtingest events that provide us the greatest opportunities for change, stretch us past safe limits & catapult us beyond fears of 'what if'... We can lose so much, yet somehow gain even more ~ I love the way you opened up & allowed yourself to follow the secret yearnings of your heart💖
It makes me want to weep; akin in spirit and in obstacle. To take a chance on ones self is no easy feat, but I firmly believe that on the other side of hurt is growth, if one can believe such miracles exist. :) It brings to mind a poem, 'Love After Love', by Derek Walcott: "The time will come when, with elation, you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread, Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life." ❤
I firmly believe such miracles do exist@@sierraodessa as I'm fortunate recipient & witness to power of divine transformation. I say 'divine' simply because we would not willingly choose to experience those kinds of devastating losses, one after the other, after the other & so on, until we find ourselves at a breaking point - do nothing, retreat, or move forward despite & thru that pain. I've found there are so many of us in this place, those of us still in Before the leap, & those, like us, safely & miraculously on the other side. I remember being terrified & full of grief to leave so much behind, but then I dreamt about standing atop tallest cliff imaginable & a beautiful angel saying, Leap & we will catch you, don't be afraid. So I leapt, & afterward wondered why I'd been so scared😊 Thank you for sharing Walcott's poem, I'd never heard it before & it's beautiful🥰 I've come to believe that, only thru such growth & change can we truly learn to see & love ourselves, as we really are in all our human frailty. Once that new self appreciation & wonderment starts, it seems whole universe opens up & showers us with thousands of miracles, tiny & large. I read that the universe loves a stubborn heart, so for all those suffering in silence under oppressive events that threaten to shatter you, I'd say the following - throw off illusion of being stuck, embrace opportunity & leap yourself into new love & new life💖
Just found this & loving your wood splitter, read other comment about kindling cracker & ordered one myself, this'll make life much easier up here in great white north Ontario :)
Hi! Thanks for being here. 🥰 It’s nice and convenient - I just keep it on the front porch and split as needed. I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you@@sierraodessa I enjoy your vids, very similar to life where I am :)
You are so fortunate to be in upstate New York. New York evergreens are the most beautiful. Hope your Christmas was all you hoped for.❄️🌟
This is so, so sweet. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here and in this exact spot, specifically. I can’t wait to show you all more! 🤍
Bigger font for words, please🙏🏼
It’s been fixed in the most recent video. :)
Can’t read the words on the screen. Can they be a bigger font? Please .I grew up in up state NY. A small village. It’s home to me. This makes me so homesick.💜
Hi! Thank you so much for being here - It makes me smile to know that you’re from the area. 😊 As far as the font size, it’s been fixed in the latest video. Thanks again!
So glad I found your channel! Peaceful, warm and inspiring.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! Considering you’re in NYC, and my being less than a year removed from it, you’ll be able to understand my overwhelming sense of peace more than most, I’d think. ♥️♥️♥️
Such beautiful and meaningful activities, both the picking and processing.
It is so meditative! I’m already looking forward to this end of summer activity. 🥰
I recently emptied my storage space in NYC. It was incredibly freeing, both financially and stuff-wise!
Absolutely! And that decision led me to what I believe is the best decision I’ve ever made - being here. 🤍

It's very hard to survive in a weather like this..Loved how you embraced it with grace and enjoying it.
Where'd you get that upright log splitter. I don't think I've ever seen one.?....e
Hi! There's a company called 'Kindling Cracker' that sells fantastic ones. They're cast iron and make splitting a breeze. Thank you for being here!
I never have either, makes so much sense! Thirty winters in Vermont, could have used that!

As much as I live your videos... I truly wish you would make your letters on screen LARGER ... I am interested in seeing what you have to comment or mention... I just can't see the text... Looking pretty cold there now...
Hi! Caption/subtitle size can be adjusted by you clicking on the gear ⚙️ button on the top or bottom right of the video (depending on how you’re viewing it) and choosing your desired size. Caption/subtitle size is by default chosen by CZcams, not me, unfortunately. 🤍
I love her stylish attire, but there's nothing wrong with doing a hard day's work looking pretty❤😊
Utterly adorable your dog with firewood in his\her mouth! Some of your colored wood pieces are natural artworks. Hope you will keep some of them for display!
She loves to be included in EVERYTHING! haha As far as the wood, I in fact did not keep any of it. It’ll live on for eternity through this video. :)
The most beautiful Christmas Tree I have seen for 2023...you turned that tinsel into a cascading waterfall of light...very beautiful and artful ❤❤❤
Thank you! Despite reservations from those around me prior to working on it - I had to let ‘em know that I had a vision AND a point to prove! lol
Wow! What a heart breaking sequence of events and your ability to go with the flow and transmute that into rebirth... I respect your endurance and resilience. A very strong inspiring person deserving of regard!
Your comment came seemingly at the perfect time, as I am only NOW (six months later) able to calmly sit back and reflect on how traumatic that time was for me -which now feels like a miracle and perhaps a superpower- that I was able to turn my grief into good despite the circumstances. Considering my history of feeling deeply to the point of fragility, I had never previously known myself to possess such strength. I truly appreciate you SEEING ME and for being here to witness my truest moments of Becoming. All my love. ❤
I was reminded as to one of the most important reasons why I left the big city when I heard all of the loud traffic siren noises. I had loved all that noise in my youth, but as I got older it jarred my soul. It takes alot of guts to get up and leave it all behind!
There is certainly something exciting about it in ones youth, or even in small doses (for me personally). But my soul was calling me elsewhere, and when your soul speaks - one must listen! There is so much beauty and purpose to be found on the other side of fear! 🤍
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching! 🥰
Nothing beats snuggling up on a snowy day! ❄ The snow is just so beautiful. Great video, thanks for sharing the winter vibes!
Thanks so much! As a summer baby, I am so surprised at how much I’m LOVING the winter and the cyclical nature of things. 🤍 Thank you for being here.
I used to live in the Beekman / Poughquag area. The Hudson Valley is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I saw that! Thank you SO MUCH for being here and taking the time to watch them all! It means the world to me. ❤❤❤
An introvert watching another introvert through screen. I can see the self content feeling in her as I can feel it inside of me too.
You understand! :) Thank you for being here!
Beautiful video! But subtitles are too small for me to read!
Thank you so much for watching! I'm working on fixing the subtitles for all videos moving forward. I appreciate you! ❤

New beginnings are always very tense and, as we mature, it becomes even worse. Starting at age 33 is a great time for reset, though :). I bought a house in a small village at age 51. This year, I'll finally move to my new home. I'm super excited but also quite exhausted. But in the end, it's all worth it!
Thank you so much for sharing! I'd love to know - When you say it gets worse, do you mean energy-wise? Having to become re-familiarized with your environment? Getting to know new people? I'd love to know your thoughts! Thank you again for being here!
Such a nice, calming video :) your dog is the cutest!! i wish winter were as pretty where i live, but it's mostly just muddy and gray
Thank you so much for your sweet words! Where do you live that makes your winters muddy and grey? ❤
