Except that everyone uses the term SSL to mean TLS, like it's still called an SSL certificate. So calling SSL deprecated is technically correct, but not really. The core point that people might miss is that a merge commit contains two references (to the prior commit on both branches respectively) and a rebased commit only one (to the immediate prior commit).
