@httohot never denied that. Its just nowadays kids footwork don't clean like how they used to because of using wood and gym floors. You can scrape on those kind've floors without paying the price too much. There's a give and a take with it all. I never denied what being able to dance on wood has helped do to breaking but I will say that because of it, the generation we have now looks alot different and "sloppier" than our elders. Im talking about a generational thing. Not individuals.
The moves are cleaner cuz they actually danced on the street. You had to still look fresh when you got up. and if you did a hard move...you couldn't f*ck up. Nowadays kids break on studio dance floors and gymnastic gyms. They just throw themselves around.
to "starclad" I understand what youre talking about my wife tells my kids about my breakdancing days back in the day. Age/weight not a good break combo lol. Plus my sons into that other so called style "shuffling". Bring back the good old days for us not-so-oldies.
I dont give a shit, no matter how technical bboying gets these guys would shit on us not taking into account that their legends but the fact of how smooth and quick the transitions and moves are but also the fact of how much flava they have
Was this before or after Beat street?? I liked them better in the movie when they wore their sweats and hooded jackets. Here they look too 'hollywoodish' with those electric blue and yellow spacesuits...and that singing!!!
@aznbboy22 ofcourse it is smoother, since it was still the beginning and power moves of today were not yet discovered (like air twisters). But no comments about stylish look
ur wrong - breaking today is shit. the breakers look like tramps and their footwork looks like they are on acid - it is all over the place and looks shit. look at it here, smooth, clean, stylish and professional. give me RSC above the scrawny, scruffy no style koreans any day of the week.......
Suits are awsome Electro Space. Its a crew and its out of space.Rap is FUN thats the deal, party party and FUN.Every crew has its own style and its not only spinning doing the helicopters and shit. Its about breaking it was art, team work electro waves breaking the body standing.Kids used to practice on the streets and made up moves and stuff ,no GYM classes teacher and shit.Graphity was fun too express your self.1980s ROCKS.
You're right about that, Evelsteev, RSC were the second generation who preserved traditional b boying with the new they brought into it. You'll notice a lot of people just making off the cuff remarks and entering misinformation. Like one poster was calling the south bronx originated move TURTLE move crickets. Damn.
No, there's so much footage of them all over all the way up to now, of them just dancing, competing, in movies, etc. It's just that the ones you look up on youtube, are videos of their performances when in that time period, breaking got so big, they were given the chance to make some songs that became hits. They themselves knew the music wasn't hip hop or what their culture was, but they were young middle to high school kids from the ghettos being offered money.
Still quality.
