Great video! This car is beautifully restored. Kudos to the owner! The Standard 10 Pennant is a wonderful car. My family had this from 1963 to 1992. We have many happy memories of it, and my brother and I learned how to drive in this beautiful vehicle.

Please dismantle the entire exhaust , use hydrochloric acid and seel the one end with a cycle tube and fill it till the end leave it for4 hrs then pressure wash, we used to cut the exhaust into several pieces and use a wire stainless steel scrubber ( dish wash scrubber tried to a 6 mm rod, we used the premier Padmini speedometer cableinstead and then weld it back. Then remove the head completely clean it inside and out identify remove intake and exhaust valves fit them on a drilling machine and run them having held the value with a 400 water emery on the other hand it will beautifully come like brand new, put a new gasket but I prefer soaking the head in a bath containing 200 GM's of washing soda in 7 litres of water, for 12 hrs, the simple reason is the caked and baked carbon between the exhaust valves and the exhaust manifold and the mouth, we remove it with a flat screw driver and the stubborn carbon after soaking in washing soda bath using a mandrel I made by making a grove in the flat of the screw driver for one and half inches and cut off the handle of the screw driver and fit it into a drilling machine and sand everything and finally used a steel scrubber tied to the same custom made mandrel and wash it by scrubbing with surf Excel soap powder and wash it. You will be surprised with your emission readings
