I draw my musical inspiration from many sources. I am inspired in particular by the qualities of the musical intervals, and am thus committed to a sense of tonality in general. The Art form of Eurythmy, which was developed by Rudolf Steiner at the beginning of the 20th Century has been a very specific source of discovery, above all through the consistent collaboration I have pursed over the past 30 years with my wife and Eurythmist Sigune Brinch. It is the inner activity of the soul in the participation of the musical happening that interests me. In my experience audiences of contemporary music have shrunk to such an extent that I am inclined to conclude that a crisis is raging. And yet it seems that contemporary music is still engaged in the pursuit of the ultimate alienation of the listener. I believe that the listener of contemporary music needs to have more than mere novelty and chaos in order to become a part of and to take part in the music performance. gbrinch.wordpress.com
Yellow the Bracken Opus 143 no1
Composed in November 2020 commission by the Alanus Eurythmy Training faculty in Cologne, Germany.
This is a number of variations on a simple round I composed ca. 1997 to the Autumn Poem:
Yellow the bracken, golden the sheaves,
rosy the apples, crimson the leaves,
misty the hillsides, clouds grey and white
Autumn good morning - Summer good night.

Time and Space Opus 143 no 2
zhlédnutí 41Před 13 hodinami
Composed in November 2020 commission by the Alanus Eurythmy Training faculty in Cologne, Germany. This piece is essentially in C# Minor but much of the music moves in a world of free tonality. The title was given after the music was composed. The contrasting themes explore time and space and the transitions between these existential experiences. The lyrically wistful opening moves into space in...

A poem by Stephen James about the ultimate redemption of Satan/Ahriman. On a rusty iron throne in the farthest bounds of space I saw Satan sit alone cold and haggard was his face for his work was done and he rested in eternity. Down to him from out the Sun came his brother and his friend, saying now the work is done enmity is at an end and he guided Satan to paradises that he knew Uriel without...

Such a beautiful piece!
Good to see you uploading!
thereby hangs a tale...
Thank you to Nicholas Korth and Clive Williamson for 'getting' this piece so instantly!
Loved it!! Thank you!
wonderful! wow
Very nice Performance! Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
Gregers! Når du nu laver sådan noget smuk musik, hvorfor præsenterer du det så dårligt! Du sidder med ryggen til kameraet, lyden er halvdårlig, lyset er halvdårligt, hvad f..... har du gang i? Tag dig sammen.
Good shit bro
The piano would have to be tuned before the beautiful eurythmy performance.
what kind of tuning would you like?
Beautiful... simply beautiful
Thank you! 😊
What a beautifull song. A shelter for the storm after a hard days work! Love to you. Ron
Nice - going folk'is eh?
hopefully robert forgives you. cool stuff
wonderfully complex and quite unexpected. it seems there is a fine line between joy and woe as demonstrated through this lovely piece. When I think it's about to fall apart, it always seems to fall into place. story of my life, perhaps!
the falling apart is just par for the course of every premiere!
Thank you so much for bringing me in. You are so in it!
Any time!
Well Greys, that was well done and delightfull to hear/see you on this channel. Ron
Is that my old friend Ron - I will never forget our talks! I am grateful to you still!
Great!
I have finally managed to improve the audio quality of this live recording from May 2012. I intend to upload the individual songs separately in time.
I hope this will get another airing some time.
Debussy und Steiner would surely be delighted by this moving combination of their art. A superb performance!
Undskyld....fik ikke øvet nok på den.
Working on this with eurythmist Sigune Brinch to perform in the Goetheanum, Dornach.
Waow Sigune, I just stumbled on this...how stunningly beautiful. Truly!
Espectacular!!!?
It is wonderful Sigune ❤, thank you!
Rousing stuff.
I love it. Takes me back to the turn of the millennia when l was fortunate enough to be at Abbey Road while Nigel Kennedy was playing violin arrangements of tracks by the Doors from a generation before.
This is so beautiful. Sadly, eurythmy has discontinued at my children's Steiner school. I hope a new teacher can be found asap.
I'm a Eurythmist, which school is this?
@@samanthaschippers2704 It's York Steiner School, UK. Thanks so much for responding!
