Used car inventory is low, because new car prices are unreasonably high. If people aren't buying new cars, they aren't trading in used cars.

well when you consider even to buy a decently optioned Toyota Camry LE hybrid for ex is nearly 40,000 with all things considered in Massachusetts there's maybe 4 times a year where there are big incentives to buy a new car Presidents Day weekend Memorial Day Weekend Labor Day and Christmas presidents day is a big one especially when there's a mid year special edition of a car released or a replica of a pace car from Daytona 500 or Indianapolis 500 which are usually limited to a couple of thousand models the most common car used for Indy pace car duty is the Chevrolet Corvette with 26 Appearances in 46 Runnings from the 25th anniversary Corvette in 1978 to the E Ray 3LT in 2024

Things are just slowly returning to how they were before covid. Back then, the auto lots were full of cars and substantial discounts were common. What we've been seeing over the last 3 or 4 years has NOT been a normal market. It was an aberration.

If there's any type of crash coming, they sure aren't giving into it in my state. I'm open to a new truck but they are not budging.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Everyone knows buy here pay here is a ripoff; but for some people it is the only way they can get a halfway decent car. But never buy a used car without having a mechanic you know and trust take a look at it, even if you're not at a buy here pay here lot.

The problem is dealers screwed banks into giving loans that were unrealistic to the value of the car being sold. That has caused a REPO epidemic like few have ever seen. Banks don't trust dealers anymore and consumers are in debt trouble and banks are not just saying yes to anyone with a 650-credit score.

It's called karma. The dealers did it to themselves by excessively screwing the customer and the banks were left to hold bad loans and record repo rates. Buyers over the last three years will be upside down until the cows come home. The dealer sympathy department is closed.

2018 Eco Diesel FAILED! EGR Failed twice, so I had Dodge do the delete. I was just about to change the front brake pads for the first time (I tow a heavy trailer once a week, but am slow to accelerate and brake, therefore gentle on my equipment) BUT at 135K kms, the bottom end went! Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in Dodge releasing an untested engine! Of course it's out of warranty. Dodge said they would have covered it under 'good will', but because an EGR delete was done (and by the Dodge dealership no less) they won't cover it! I only had the delete done because they released such a flawed engine that suffocates itself! I wanted the 'Eco' part of the name too! Dodge is harming relationships between clients and dealerships. Dealerships shouldn't need to cover the lack of support by Dodge.

Cars are just too expensive. I’ll just keep fixing my 11 year old car and Riding my motorcycle.
