I noted the absence of a mission for the Interdiction of the North Atlantic SLOC in Michael Kofman's presentation. Is it now assessed that the Russia navy isn't capable of projecting any power into the oceanic zone during a war with NATO, even with Akula SSNs?

Can't re-build Ukraine w/o investor confidence. Can't have confidence if your investment likely will be blown up (literally) tomorrow. The only reassurance for investors would be NATO article 5. That comes w/NATO accession. That won't happen until an armistice, at the least, is achieved. Even then, there'll be a considerable debate regarding admission. ONLY NATO accession will prevent Putin or a successor attempting yet again. It's the only hope for Ukrainians who must win before they can rebuild.

I'm pro NATO in Sweden but i understand some people's anger at how we joined NATO because in every step that we have left our Non Alignment the Social Democrats which is is the largest Party in Sweden has denied that there has really been any change. So when Swedish politicians mention that there has been a 30 year process that will rub a lot of people the wrong way. Entry into NATO was however clear cut as almost all parties voted for Swedish entry, except the (ex-)communists and (wannabee- commies)Greens.

Prof Michael Clarke was as illuminating a lecturer & RUSI chair as he is analyst on our recent news feeds (especially regarding Russia’s decade long aggression against Ukraine).
