    Thank you for the video, I have a question. Next season when you take out the ski, do you need to do anything after spraying the fogging oil in the cylinders? I'm about to winterize mine now and want to make sure I do the correct steps when I take it out at the begging of next season. please let me know.

      You don't have to do anything , just start it up and it will smoke for couple seconds and done. All fogging oil will burn out and good to go.

    You said there is about 1/2 inch between the double walls of the lid. The drill bit looked longer than that. Did you drill through both walls? Did the new rivets go through both walls? A shot of the under side of the lid when completed would have been nice.

      In my opinion contact cement is best. I did a nitro 10 years ago and still looks like the day I did it. Contact cement is way more expensive so prob that's why people don't use it but once it grabs you can't adjust so be careful take your time.

    Awesome video! Dont think I could have done it without this step by step video. So I installed the byrd shelix cutterhead yesterday and the one thing I noticed is when you install the cutterhead into the gear box bearing there seems to be some side to side play is this normal? All the bearings seem to be good. But it does seem to have some vibration. I wasn't sure if it was all the way in and didnt want to break that bolt attached to the small gear. It does spin nice and smooth. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron.

    • @kevinbucner2739
      @kevinbucner2739 Před rokem

      With this method there is but not much, if you want to see more coming out you can use a 5 gal bucket and use an utility pump submersed to pump the antifreeze vs gravity .

  • @youknoweverything7643

    Nice setup but instead of going through all that trouble why cant you juat use a simple power drill and do it by hand only takes a few minutes

    • @CzechSixTv
      @CzechSixTv Před 10 měsíci

      With his set up, just like with a commercial machine, he can set the rate of oscillation and hone rpm to get a consistent 45 degree crosshatch. There is also less chance of side loading the hone and the stroke length is consistent, both of which prevent uneven honing. A glaze breaking ball hone is one thing, but I've seen cylinders "honed to size" with a power drill and rigid hone where the bore varied as much as 2-3 thousandths at different depths.
