Jokes aside I think the reasoning behind him not landing on that immediate runway was because the plane have no fuel -> no thrust. He nose dived initially to build up speed but at the beginning the plane was at 270 knots, a plane this size landing speed is around 140-160 knots. So he pitched up and glided around until the speed reduces to ~140 knots and made the landing. I'm no aviation professional btw so feel free to correct me but that was my understanding.

Bruh I was on this flight. I took a viagra just before the flight and it was a 6 hour flight and my boner was still going at hour 4 so I panicked and caused a scene banging my unit into everyone in an isle seat 😂
