I hope you all enjoy this video! It was so fun learning this piece. Playing Slavische by memory has been a long process, but it's helped my musicality expand so much. This freshman year has been so great for me. I've improved so much and I'm excited for what's to come in my trumpet playing.
This was our trumpet studio recital at the University of Oklahoma.

The OU trumpet studio spent a couple of months preparing and memorizing this beautiful piece. It was arranged by our professor, Doug Lindsey, and we were lucky to have been able to attend NTC AND MAKE SEMI-FINALS. I got a new GoPro!! Let me know how the quality looks! It's the Go Pro Hero 12. It looks so cool and I'm so excited to record stuff outside of Pride with it! This was our last home game against TCU. We won but sadly won't go to the Big 12 Championship :(

This is the music portion of the pride of Oklahoma marching band audition.
Thanks for posting this. I was a mellophone in the Pride in 1996 and people who have never been a part of the greatest marching band in history. Running out of that tunnel was one of the biggest rushes I’ve ever experienced in my life. I came from a small town in Oklahoma where the school hates the band so our parents were the only ones who ever gave a crap about us. Then I came to OU and marching from Catlett to the stadium and seeing EVERYONE going nuts for us was a dream come true.
This is so fun to watch getting your pov and just a close and personal look of the actual field. I’m in love with Sooner football I dream of a day I will be able to watch a game in Norman. Decades of watching that atmosphere with my old man. He was an OU Alumni. We had our differences but on game day, nothing else mattered 😭🙏

Man it was my dream when I was little to be in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band. That never happened but I love getting to see what it would be like. Especially from a trumpeter because that's what I play, so thank you so much for this unique perspective.

What is your best advice for someone who wants to be on the pride of Oklahoma
Definitely practice the music! Everything is based on your audition. The better you do, the harder part you get, so definitely practice! Once you get in, it’s super fun and all the stress goes away. So make sure you try!
