I've played 500 hours of MHW for 5 years, played 4 other previous monster hunter games and i've always tought these games DID NOT HAVE ANY i-frames and i've always just rolled out of the monster's attack path or ran away from it and i just tought this is how the games worked.

The main reason I hate this boss is the ultimate ability and the weak points. The weakpoints I can begrudgingly accept and play around. However annoying they are, they are nothing but a minor inconvenience. Supernova is just straight up cancer. A massive AoE DOT attack with very little charge up, has wind pressure, and flinches you while damaging you. So in addition to max earplugs, I also need to run max wind resistance. Fighting this boss makes me want to suck start a shotgun.

thank you for this video, 4 years on. I was getting very frustrated and didnt understand how i was STILL being hit. I was rolling through attacks i should roll away from and vice versa. this is going to take some practice in the arena!

For the pin, I always just get up ASAP and spam the roll button to the left or right, and it always gets me out of the slam just in time.

I agree with your approach to the game. I enjoy using specific builds for monsters but the most satisfying part of MH is when I can finally read the monster and knowing what to do. With that said, Barrioth is the biggest pain in my ass right now. I can deal with similar monsters like Tigrex and Narcacuga but I find Barrioth the most annoying to hunt.

ngl, some of these moves from my level of experience is hard to tell if I should go in or out, but in general I think I understand the base concept. But this will definitely help, especially the fast moves because I always felt like I was setting myself up to get hit after dodging one.

This video helped me a lot in the titanic job of beating Arch Tempered Velkhana, thank you very much I found it at the best moment.

I'm a god in Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Bloodborne at both dodging, and countering, in MHW - get hit by everything, always, forever. Either I seem to dodge too fast, or I dodge at the 'last second' and just get hit anyway, even though I can both hear and feel myself pressing the dodge button. I'll never understand how it works.

In other words, learn every monsters attacks completely to identify and act in a split second to react accordingly..... this is easier said than done and takes hundreds if not thousands of hours to learn the sweet spot for evading timing...

Im at end of vanilla MHW's high rank. Beat her 2 times, dont know how. Looking at all the cool items/gear in the game and how many of her Gems you need....makes my head dizzy.
