Stand for the «INFINITE PANORAMA»

This summer we got this "infinite panorama" souvenir from Isola Maggiore, Lake Trasimeno, Italy. I finally got around to make a simple walnut stand for it.
Modern Catchall Tray / Key Tray
zhlédnutí 804Před 2 lety
I made a couple of 2-story catchall / key trays, one for us and one available on my Etsy store. A few bumps along the way, but I really love the result! #catchalltray #keytray

I MADE A MISTAKE! - Cyclonic Dust Separator
zhlédnutí 600Před 2 lety
This project is very easy, but I make a mistake that cost me a bit of money and made me waste some of my time! In the end, luckily, it all worked out perfectly. #dustseparator #cyclone
OLIVE WOOD BOXES
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 2 lety
A while back a friend of mine gave me some olive wood, so I thought I would make a couple simple keepsake boxes. I love them! #woodenbox #keepsake #olivewood
EASY Crosscut Sled in 1 Hour
zhlédnutí 3,7KPřed 2 lety
Finally! I had to make myself a simple crosscut sled for the table saw. I used an old plastic cutting board, an MDF board, and some plywood scraps. #crosscutsled #tablesaw
Making Art - And a Deep Display Frame
zhlédnutí 356Před 3 lety
I made a very simple piece of art - dubbed "Frozen Spring" - as well as the display case/frame for it. You can find this art on my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/DarioSoleraWoodworks My Website: dsww.it My Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/shop/DarioSoleraWoodworks #art #naturalart #diydisplaycase

Multi Function Table Saw Sled | Spline Jig | Tenon Jig
zhlédnutí 4,1KPřed 3 lety
I made a double-sided sled for my table saw to cut tenons - or other vertical stock - as well as splines for miter joints. It works very well! #tablesawsled #splinejig #tenoningjig
Modern Pendant Light | Hand Tools Only
zhlédnutí 284Před 3 lety
Another lockdown project - and hopefully the last one - but considering the very limited tools I had at hand, I reckon the result is incredible! What do you think? #diypendantlight
Firewood to Coffee Table | Beech and Epoxy
zhlédnutí 687Před 3 lety
Buy this coffee table! www.etsy.com/listing/911034729 I sliced two small beech logs, destined to become firewood, and turned them into a coffee table. These logs had very nice spalting figures, and with the help of some epoxy, I reckon the result is stunning! What do you think? #coffeetable #diycoffeetable #epoxycoffeetable
TABLE SAW KICKBACK - Caught On Camera
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed 3 lety
I experienced a pretty strong kickback on my table saw. I was injured, but I reckon it could have ended much worse... #tablesawkickback #kickback
Battery Light w/ 3D Printed Parts
zhlédnutí 135Před 3 lety
Without access to my shop due to the pandemic, I made this light integrating (very simple) woodworking with 3D printing. It's mostly an experiment, but I kinda like the result. What do you think? #batterynightlight #3dprintedlight #woodenlight
EASY Cabinet w/ Fabric Panel Doors
zhlédnutí 1,8KPřed 3 lety
I made a freestanding cabinet to fit a very specific space and style. The structure is horrible-quality spruce, the back is hardboard, and door panels are poplar plywood. Unfortunately, the hinges I initially used were too small for the structure material thickness, so I had to use a different type. #cabinet #easycabinet #diycabinet

Thanks for sharing this. I'm glad it wasn't any worse. I understand the "I know I shouldn't do this, but it's just a quick cut... " thought. Mine cost me 8 hours in the ER and the tip of a finger, but could have been much worse. In addition to practicing much safer practices in general, I won’t make any cut if I have any doubt about. I hope that your experience will save someone else from an injury that easily could have been avoided.

I wish you hadn’t super speeded up the wiring. This is the bit that would have been most useful to me as I cannot find any reliable information on wiring an on/off toggle switch.

I plan to build two small sleds - one for mitre and another for exact cross cuts. Both will extend some what to the right of the blade to stabilize the offcut. Thought this would simplify box-making. I think one-purpose dedicated jigs afford more accuracy.

I think you should have spent more effort making sure the back rail was exactly at 90 degrees to the cut line. I'll bet if you did the five cut test you would find it's not as accurate as you think it is.
