Sound test of my modified Gibson USA Monkey SG through a cranked Laney LA30BL. The guitar has been modified to the custom shop specs with zero fret, lacquered fretboard, Sperzel tuners, aged, and most importantly a set of Jaydee Monkey pickups replaced the stock P90’s

This and Bad Blood are masterpieces, better than some of the songs that made it to the Dehumanizer album. What the hell were they thinking cutting them? Ugh...

Sounds good! Did you coat the fret board yourself? I want to do the same to my monkey replica.
Only bad thing on this great work was at the time of 'PSYCHOPHOBIA' riff that you played at the wrong pace the "G' (i almost sure thats G) note part you played a little late . If you would fix that would be PERFECT
drum machine timing imperfection, I took slight liberties with the riffs anyway. It's not one-to-one copy. Haven't the desire to mess more with it. It was recorded over 8 years ago.
I'm not criticizing your version, i said that's great, the only thing i didn't liked was that part because breaked the feeling of the original riff, but overall is still great.

Sounds sick! What’s it like playing with lacquered board with all working fingers? I contacted JD to order pickups and will be doing same mods to mine so hopefully I can get JD to make them.
@@ACE-hv5sw the lacquer on fretboard has no major noticeable difference when playing. Sorta like playing a maple neck on tele or strat I suppose. But not really noticeable. I have had 3 Jaydee guitars, all masterpieces!
Did you do the lacquer yourself or have someone do it? I’ve asked a couple local luthiers and they weren’t interested.
@@ACE-hv5sw I had it done by a local luthier who does all my work. He aged the guitar as well and installed the monkey pickups which are quite different in size than a normal P90. The body required some routing to accommodate the JD pickups
@@Respecttheriff well it looks and sounds great. I’m not giving up until I find someone to do the work locally or find out the cost is more than the guitar lol. I’ve given up on getting JD pickups and instead having a set made with extra poles on neck that should sound and look close.
Sorry for all the questions but I found a local shop that will do it. Do you recall what product (wipe on or spray on) your guy used and ballpark cost to coat the fret board? I just want to make sure I’m asking for the right modification to be done.
This is a MASTERPIECE !!! Tony should put this GEM on the regular album instead the cheesy "Sins of the father"
This demo I recontructed has riffs Tony used in later songs, the main riff at beginning was later used in Psychophobia
