I am having an important job interview in 2 days, after being unemployed for a year. I have high hopes as the supervisor reached out to me as she was impressed with my application and the job prospect is excellent but at the same time I am very afraid of messing up this opportunity. I don't know if this will work out or what I will do if it doesn't. I've been trying to just focus on what's in my control but the thoughts of continuing to live in poverty and not being able to afford to do what I want or see my friends for much longer are often overwhelming. My soul (and also often my body) is very weary, but I have no other choice than to keep going. For now, I will continue my battle and trying my best. I hope in several days I could update you with good news. I really hope so. I hope good things come to you, to all of us soon. God knows we need more positivity in these trying times.

life is so overwhelming. breaking through personal struggles and addiction is the strongest and most difficult thing ive ever had to do in my life. ive failed so many times and its so disappointing, both to me and to the people who i love. it feels out-of-body - seeing the person you are from a third-person perspective as the person who you want to be and know you can be. i feel so powerless in all of it, which is ironic given that i know i have the capacity to change. people can't change unless they want to, but how do you cope with being someone who wants to change but seemingly still cant? it's impossible to wrap my head around. i wish i could just flip a switch and become the person i want to be. i fight that daily struggle but whenever i lapse it always manifests into something far worse that impacts myself and the person i care about most, whether through my actions or otherwise, and things never seem to get better nor do i ever seem to truly change. im still the same person i was before i made that commitment. and thats scary. i know im smart, and i know my worth. so why do i feel so helpless to make change in my own life even when committing to it? it makes my promises worth nothing. my self-worth feel unvaluable. my confidence out the window. i wish that i could just feel worthy of love again, to see the best in myself, to be able to commit to something and follow through rather than succumbing to self-doubt, addiction, and worthlessness. to stop shutting down in the face of adversity rather than confronting it. i feel like a failure of a human being, a failure of a boyfriend, a failure to myself. and i dont know how to work through it. it feels like i cant help me help myself, even when i try. and i dont know what to do about it
