GHANA DIARIES.

I document my life in rural Ghana.
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERDEVELOPED AREAS IN GHANA 🇬🇭
After 25 years,I took a trip on this road again, and to my surprise, nothing has changed. Same old dusty and rough road.
The majority of lands here are used for palm plantations. They produce palm oil for local and international use, yet it doesn't reflect in their lives or their environment.
The people deserve better.

Awesome 👌 👏 ❤
At least Miss Trudy linked us.
Yes, many Afrikan Americans and the Western born children think Ghana is only Accra and the capital is East Legon. 🤣😂
Is this Kumawu Besoro? I am an old student @ TKSS.
Yes ooooo. TK is calling you oooo, lol. Come and contribute to the school. Please subscribe 🙏, thank you.

@@OdopaFoods I get you. I'm not an old student myself,I just love the school. I want to see it prosper because I've taken some kids there.
@@Ghanadiaries I raised funds and bought i deep freezer and 2 fridge freezers for the school. I went there to ensure safe delivery. Only the freezer went to the kitchen, the headd master took one and the deputy headmaster in front of me. I had a good conversation with them BEFORE they realised i was the one who brought the things they stole infront of me.
Great video footage 👍 👏 ❤
Thank you
Swedru has a lot of potential.
Today's world go with high rise buildings but kumasi don't have
High-rise building isn't an indicator of progress. Go to most European countries and they don't have those buildings. Most have storey buildings but not excessively tall.
We need cranes in Kumasi. Forget about Europe. Most African cities have high rise buildings. Anyway, Kumasi look like a village in Bangladesh

Thanks
By ghana standard ? If yes then it is not a "village"🤷🏻♂️😁
Hi Can you tell me how cheap it’s possible to eat street food, breakfast, lunch and dinner in Agona Swedru? :)
Hi, it's cheaper compared to Accra. It all depends on what you buy. You can spend between 5 to 10$ a day. It's about personal preference.
@@Ghanadiaries Hi again, I’m looking for the cheapest price.-and I know that it’s possible to eat breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner for 20 cedis in Accra. So if it’s cheaper in Agona Swedru, how cheap is it? Would you be willing to check it out? Then I would very much like to pay for it. 500 cedis?
You can keep the rest :)
@@ronniehamann8348 Keep what rest? 5$ will be 50cedis not 500cedis. Unless you're buying snacks, it's not possible to eat three meals for 20cedis in Accra. Maybe for locals it's possible but coming from outside, it's not advisable to eat everything initially.
@@Ghanadiaries I thought you were local. I keep on searching for a local. Thanks for your honesty.
The containers, kyosks and lotto boots are too many on our roads
Hmmm,I used to think the same until I decided to look for a store. It's not their fault. Store prices are high, and conditions aren't convenient.
Kumasi needs massive improvement
@daviddavid-ds3dn There is much ongoing. I lost some footages unfortunately. There are residential places that are massive. Personally, I think places like Asafo, Ashtown,Adum,Kejetia etc needs just paint and some little maintenance, and it will be great. I love buildings that tell a story, and Kumasi, to me, has that feeling.
What about Accra the capital city .. is more of what u mention.. Kumasi is even better n land is very organized Accra is bush

Motherland
Love from jamaica 🇯🇲 beautiful place
Thank you
@@Ghanadiaries want to buy my land to build and live in kumawu or in accra love Africa my motherland
No problem. The only explanation I will have here is that Accra and Kumawu aren't in the same region. Kumawu is in the Ashanti region and is closer to Kumasi than Accra. It's about 4 to 5 hours' drive from Accra, but an hour drive to Kumasi. The weather here is great, good land for farming and very relaxing place. Compared to Accra or Kumasi, land is very cheap here. I love this place, but if you're someone who loves the city vibe, it might be too slow for you. I might be wrong thou because every city person who I brought here loved it. I don't know if you can visit and take decisions or if you will just go by instinct.
Beautiful town. Thank you for sharing with us.

I just subscribed cos of the serenity of the area. What a wow.

Wow! My first station after teachers training college. I taught there for 5 years. Now in Switzerland. I think you can make it more interesting by taking a bit about the areas. Like, this is the market place and so on. Thanks so much. Keep it up.
That's awesome!
Thanks for your service We really appreciate it. Nice video but most of the new buildings were not captured

What abuat the streets
I didn't even know this place existed, I was going to woraso for the first time and I saw this place. I guess they are going to do it because I saw some gravels on the roadside.
Please like and subscribe.
There’s no pavements, ghana has so much natural resources but still there’s no pavements, look at how wide that road is with hardly any cars driving past , in this area only one car passes every 30 to 40 mins so why didn’t the government build pavements
The road is still under construction so I can't tell what they will do or not do. There are taxis and vans always using these streets, yes there maybe some slow moments sometimes of the day but it's not as you're imagining.
@@Ghanadiaries I can bet you this road remain as it is just the main strip in Accra known as Oxford street where night clubs are , there’s no pavements there and there’s open gutters. it’s been like that for over 30 years
Why do the women cut there hair?
It's complicated.
@@Ghanadiaries please explain it
@ctbt1832 I don't know when or how that thing started, but they explain it this way. Because they don't want other underprivileged girls to be pressured to do unthinkable things just to keep up, they want all girls in schools have a haircut. Do I agree? No! But the majority of the parents are happy about it, so no one is pushing for change.
@@Ghanadiaries I get what you’re saying but to me that does not make sense. I think someone was lazy and did not want to do anything with the young girls hair so they cut it. And it became the thing. The problem with that is if you do what you’re supposed to do with it being cut. it could prevent hair from growing. Not in all cases.
@ctbt1832 The thing is, many Ghanaians don't have issues with hair, so they aren't even bothered. Also the cutting of hair thing is deeply rooted in the Akan tradition. Queen mothers cut their hair, and if you have a permed hair, you must cover it during traditional celebrations. Read about dansinkran and you'll understand it more.
Dividing yellow lines should be put on the streets
They are still working on it.
A lot of the powerlines and communication lines should be put under ground and sidewalks should be installed
If I had power,I will do it.
@@Ghanadiaries organize. Get with the political leaders and people in your communities.
Now more people are choosing towns and suburbs over noisy and crazy cities
Am a product of TKSS.
Yes , but have they finished. What about the side and of the road, what are they going to do about it. Otherwise, the road won't last for a long time.
They are still on it.
@Ghanadiaries Alright, thanks
Lovely 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭❤️❤️
Ashanti Region is very beautiful
My hometown. I saw my house. Thank you for sharing with us
Welcome.
Kumawu Bodomase here
Thank you.
I'm impressed that even rural Ghana looks decent!
Sure does.
Why didn't they construct a pavement for people to walk on?
They are not done yet.
Hmmm, you know in Ghana they almost never do that. They are working on gutters now and they are open gutters.
@@Ghanadiaries that is sad
Well, we will get there. If they don't cover it up, we will do it ourselves slowly but surely.
If all Ghanaian paid their taxes, am sure all will be then. Us Ghanaians always complain but nobody wants to pay taxes or property taxes
I love love love love Kwahu , my heart is yearning to build a house in Kwahu
Please can you do a tour of Kumawu Bodwease and post the video? Thanks.
Kwahu is beautiful, too, but this isn't Kwahu, but Kumawu in the Ashanti region.
Kumawu is different from Kwahu
They are taking all the Gold and look at your roads
Which roads?
If you knew this place before, you will only be happy for this progress.
