I just bought one and wish I hadn't. It has many great features, but the fence is a terrible design deal-breaker. It cannot be properly adjusted and doesn't support the workpiece properly behind the blade making the saw very susceptible to violent kickbacks. The rear screws to the throat plate are buried under the fence which must be unbolted and removed in order to change the plate, then the fence must be recalibrated. Try before you buy. Wish I had spent the extra money for the Kapex.

I bought this machine because I needed a leaf vacuum, and I own a lot of Makita tools, therefore having a collection of 12 batteries and three chargers. Here's my advice: A fully charged 5 Amp battery will last for about 6 minutes because it is 18V; it should have been 36V so you can use two batteries at the same time, thus lasting longer. So bear in mind that you need more than two batteries and a fast or rapid charger to do the job. The suction power is lame, to say the least, and the blower is even worse. I paid 235 bloody euros for this crap. I own 11 Makitas tools, and I was confidant to go for this one. Alas, it is a P.O.S. Save your money, find something else, and try or put it into action if you can before you buy.

sa ne change en rien que le temps de travaille et très limité g les acheté et je regrette mon achats si c pour du contour après une tonte sa peut le faire d que c pour s'attaquer un un debrousaillage bien plus important sa ne le fait pas du tout l'appareille en lui même coupe bien fonctionne bien a la puissance qu'il faut la ou sa pèche c le temps des batterie elle se décharge bien trops vite il en faudrais je ne c combien de batterie pour pouvoir travailler correctement avec je compte le revendre cars c pas possible de travailler avec surtout si vous êtes dans un endroit ou il y a pas d'éléctrécité je vais me rabattres sur un thermique pas le chois les jouet c finins pour moi place a de vrais matériel pro comme sthil ou la tu peut bosser correctement et pas te prendre la tête avec les batterie qui te coute au final très cher

Hi Makita folks, quick product suggestion, I think you should bring out 52 mm cordless planer for cabinetry/interior fitting (jigsaws are not a good scribing tool regardless of blade used). If possible in 12V/cxt series rather than 18 or 40V. 82mm 18V planers are too big, heavy and hard to control on melamine, edge scribing etc. Smaller 50mm planers with max 2mm removal (no need for more) are joy to use. Some other brands do offer it and I tried one of them not too long ago and I loved it, game changer when scribing panels especially longer material. But to be honest I would rather a Makita product. I don't think Makita offer a product like this in Europe or UK. Thank you.
