Great video, I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts on the game, and the way the video was presented. I've been having a blast but I need to convince my friends to pick it up, I imagine it's way more fun co-op or multiplayer.
The game is a blast either way. i had a lot of fun on my cocop world and learned even more on my solo plays

I am not a huge source gamer, but this looks sick as a game to bridge the skill gap between myself and my friend getting into gaming.

There’s a pretty good player base on PlayStation. Almost always get instant cues
never played paragon or smite. i just found out this game exists like 2 weeks ago. Now i have almost 100 hrs in it. It is the best escape from dota 2, where i have like 10k hours. If you count old dota 1, i have well above 20k hours. This game seems so chill and easy compared to dota, it is the best escape after a few stressful dota games.

As someone who is really enjoying afk journey as a ftp player. You have points but not enough to suggest people not give it a try. Something you have to keep in mind with this game is that it is a mostly single player experience. There are leaderboards and players who pay are always going to be at the top of those. but the rewards for being on them isn’t enough to offset your own progression. If you struggle with paying more than you would like on mobile game then don’t play. But for people who enjoy games that are free with no ads try it. Everything comes to you with time. So not paying won’t actually trap you in any way that time can’t fix.
I'm not going to lie i wouldn't tell people not to try the game. If a friend asked if he should try it i would tell them the truth. I enjoyed the early game a good bit. i love the art and animation. just not a fan of a lot of the behind the scenes moves for this game to be everywhere. I'm sorry if that wasn't completely clear.
I've been enjoying this game quite a bit. I think as a F2P game, it has a lot of predatory features that aren't immediately apparent (even worse ones that you couldn't have known about) but unlike other gacha games like Genshin Impact, your success is inevitable. You will eventually get the heroes you want. In Genshin people have dropped hundreds without getting what they want. And if you have enough self control not to spend money, AFK Jouney is great, maybe one of the best F2P games of its kind, but if you find yourself falling into traps set by F2P gacha games and end up spending money that you didn't plan to spend, avoid this and all gacha games. To be fair, I may be baised because I haven't played a ton of other gacha games because they are all about anime tiddies, but I've played enough.
The game has AFK in its name. Let the rewards build up for half a day and you can easily level up all of your characters. If *this game* is what you consider predatory then you should probably stay away from mobile gaming entirely. I'm not being facetious when I say that; this game is one of, if not the most, kindest to Ftp players gacha game in the genre atm. And surprise, they have a marketing team, and that's bad I guess? Lol.
Look I agree being F2P in a mobile game is just how it is. Maybe i went hard on the progression lock due to i could by pass the roadblocks after logging in about a week after. I just think that any game that will pay people who spend money during a sponsored stream Near 2X is just a way to convince kids to pull cards for flashy colors. that is my biggest gripe.
Sure there is a gacha aspect, but the miasma roadblock is rarely an issue of not having enough pulls. It's a case of, go AFK, like the name suggests. Plus, if you can't go through that roadblock yet, you would not be able to do anything in the new area anyway. Even withing the games community ppl complain about having to AFK, in a game called AFK journey. The other critisisms are pretty valid, however this one was just bogus. Don't complain about afk gated progression in an afk game. There are a few bundels that are 100% worth it if you were planning on spending in the first place, but for the most part the microtransactions def are scams. However that does not matter at all for the games enjoyment. Their is almost no incentive to spend money and f2p players can and are able to compete in most servers.
Yes after about a week i could pass by the roadblocks with no problem but it doesn't feel good in a game with a story tied to exploration, If the AFK could help you with PvP that would be a neat twist! but the PvP isn't tied to player progression other then hero unlocks. I also don't believe that any bundles should be tied to the progression of the game its self. Plus paying people to spend money in a game is the most horrific advertiser Strategy that i have seen from any company. My view doesn't change. The art and animation is Great! but the game play leaves something to be desired.

@@wibbs412 I love myself I don't play them anymore. master tier league, and old school dota top 2000 on that cow server or whatever it was called. the private one everyone played on. Smite won't die as long as they continue getting partnerships. I'm not everyone else. Your game, will never take off though.

@@neverending5316 Ill be honest I've convinced my buddy that the game isn't over till the core is dead. so many times we have come back from a 4v5 or a 10 kill deficit is unreal engine 4.
I would like to point out that Muriel existed before Echo did 🤓☝ (also Paragon was produced by epic and came out exactly when Fortnite first came out, they noticed everyone liked the battleroyal mode and saw $ signs so they moved the devs from Paragon or just scrapped that team to focus more on the Funny default dance game) It was an extremely sad time tbh
Paragon was out before Fortnite. I played closed beta Paragon and also was a founder of Fortnite before the battle royale mode came out. It was a real shame because Paragon was such a beautiful game. But can't blame epic for following the money.

I play at rating around 14000+, but really though the lower rank you are the more fun you gonna get from the game and the people. Since it's more unlikely to meet cheater or toxic teammate, and people just having a good time, and laugh together about how bad they were. The main different here maybe is that even you lose the game, it doesn't matter to you at all, cause you enjoy the entire match.
Yes i agree with you 100% I do end up losing more but its not a bad thing due to the games being good fun!

It's part of what makes it great. Is someone abusing VC? Report/mute them and move on. If they get enough reports they'll be muted by default for a while.
