Hi, I'm Arthy. I love miniature painting, 3D printing and... things. So I thought I rather make some videos about topics that I kinda sorta know a thing or two about, then, let's say, about crocheting.
My videos are aimed for the avid but average miniature painter. Someone who wants to slay the grey mass in their closet, with very good results compared to basically no effort. So expect very short, straight to the point, no nonsense tutorials.
Scrap that, there will definitely be nonsense. But everything else is true!

We'll never have the old days back, but it's nice to dust off the old armies and take a trip back to happier times.
amazing army, lovely painted. plus, I recognized your superglue and now know you are from Germany - the glue and the fitting activator is a game changer!
You are not wrong. And that superglue is dirt cheap too!
Can I ask you. If you don’t like static grass on bases - if you were to make a new army - what would you do then?
If I would create a new Army with different bases I would focus more on good looking "soil", using the same texture paste I used to make those tank tracks. I also would add more details to the soil with more stones or whatever the theme of the base would be. I then would use tufts (they are technically static grass, but MUCH easier to handle and they do not fall off until the end of time from a base and stick to LITERALLY anything :D this is my biggest issue with static grass) to make small patches of grass.
@@arthyficial perhaps this is an idea for a couple of videos… Start a new army :) gooo Chaos Warriors 😈
@@RyanF1313 Psssst. Stop leaking my plans! 🙃
Beautiful work 💖💖
mm new bases.. I see from your griffin that i'm more than one base size behind. The old tin model had a square base and not rectangle.. Maybe it's worth dusting of the old models.. <.<
Yes and no. So bases sizes changed for The Old World. Most bases changed here. But, that Gryphon is a newer version, introduced in the 8th ed. It's called "imperial" Gryphon and it's a beefed up Gryphon on steroids, hence the size. This one was on a chariot base and is now on an even bigger one. But you can still play a Gryphon as the Empire, it has smaller stats and still the 50x50 base. But it's definately worth dusting of the old models and trying out the Old World. I love it, having a blast in the past months.
1:33 Blue Taaaac!!!😂 seriously trust on Blue Tac mate! Nice help always.
Funny that you say that, I wanted to finally get some for the past 2 weeks. I am sooooo burned from all other different kind of similar products whichalways leave some sticky residue behind, that I refrained from buying any other and just stuck to two sided tape :D But I need to finally get some
@@arthyficial True story. Great bang for your buck in this the hobbie and 99% of the times is reusable.
I love my Empire, I got them out for old world last night and just got tabled by bretonians, the cannons and mortars now no longer punch hard and the steam tank just flunks…
Don't worry, the empire isn't as bad as people say (I think, at least if you play against "normal" lists). Take a look at Demigryphs, or Inner Circle knights. I won't leave the house without them. And you can get some nice synergies going with a Sigmar/Ulric Priest. I will go over some thought that I have on all the units in my collection in my upcoming Army Showcase video. But don't give up, the empire can win. And one just has to love those puffy pantsed little guys.
Brilliant video! Loved seeing your army come back to life, and particularly liked your editing, filming and presentation style. Super chilled and professional. Subscribed! 🙌
Thank you for the kind words. I will keep it up!
@@arthyficial Look forward to it! :)
Definitely the way to go for square base games… if someone finds a less expensive variant it’s welcomed to share it!
The magic of a good army display… lovely mate.
This was great, really enjoyed watching this.
Thank you so much, glad to have you here.
Very cool video. Subbed
Very enjoyable video!
Beautiful.
Wow what a beautifl army.
This is so inspiring 🙏 When I get more time - I will look on your other videos. And thanks for sharing your knowledge and work. 👍
Thank you for watching. I wanted to share a little bit of hobby positivity and causing inspiration is the cherry on top.
Your Empire Army is very dark on a dark surface with a dark background. I think your effort in painting these deserves better attention to the presentation part as well.
Thanks, I'll keep it in mind for future videos!
@@arthyficial i think it looks fine personally :)
Static grass is not a sin! It's fuzzy and green, and gets everywhere. Yes, it may be the Goblin Green Base of the 2000s, but surely that makes it a classic in the making?
*heavy breathing* you just triggered so many wound points in my soul I cannot even put it into words :D. But I still stick with my green fuzzy static grass... Even have to buy a new blister. Those new bases are huge and eat it up like nothing. Something I never thought I'd say out loud.
Just found your channel, thanks to youtube algorithm. Your video quality is outstanding. Looking forward to the next video.
Oh wow that's nice. Great to hear it doesn't go unnoticed. Welcome aboard.
Glory to the Empire! Forward, Mad Count watching us!
From the future, I think. But he's watching! What's time anyway in a fantasy world.
welcome back to the world of fantasy, friend :)
Thanks, it's been way too long!
Very good video! I am in the process of fixing up my 6th Ed Tomb Kings because I quit playing in the summer 2006 just before 7th Ed was released. Guess how "excited" I was early this year when I found out about all of the new units released in 2011 for Tomb Kings in 8th Ed and what current day GW prices for them are....
Well that was a rollercoaster of emotions to read. I still welcome you back in our beloved hobby. And yes, those "new" Tomb King models are neat. Love the sphinx.
Army of my dreams! I’m slowing making an averland force at the moment. Black and yellow go so well. Lovely painting dude and great army. Looking forward to next video
Thank you. And yes yellow and black are perfect. Wish you all the fun in the world building your empire army. You won't regret it. I'm having the time of my life seeing my yellow, puffy pantsed dudes duking it out on the battlefield.
You explain everything very good thank you fella 👍.
@@ye_North_ Thank you. Happy to help
Skip 8:42 - 8:59. Thank me later. Where was the censor-bar here?!
I only censor harm done to miniatures, not to my own hands. That is a calculated risk.
Awesome relaxing and informative!! Keep up the good work mate
Oh that's very nice. This is exactly what I was going for. Thanks for watching mate!
Not being able to find your bits is something that happens to men of your age. You will learn to live with it.
Dude... feelings!
Just because everyone in the comment section seems to remove the supports before curing I've gotta admit I'm the guy who cured first and then removed supports... well never again though! But I'm not gonna be using hot water, we have clean drinking water in my country, I'm not gonna pollute the water supply
Glad I could help. And dito. I am trying to keep my environmentally impact as little as possible when printing.
@@arthyficial Awesome man, and thanks for the video... I'm gonna be removing supports in an hour or so, looking forward to trying your method out <3
I want all the cut off parts
Things you don't want to hear in a hospital vol. 1
I wish I had been told this when I started two years ago. I went a solid three months before I noticed they started to come off when I was washing them.
This close to what I have in mind for my republic fleet when it is finished. At the moment i’m working on learning to get the 3D prints perfect and learning how to airbush, mainly mixing paints correctly atm. This does excite me for the end product.
@@ghostapi874 Sounds great. Wish you good luck with your project.
I taught everyone just rinsed them warm water and pushed the supports off before curing
I print, then wash the model. After that, I use a baby bottle warmer which keeps a source of water warm and has and adjustable temperature. Also, I have switched to ABS-like water-washable from regular water-washable resin and the supports break off so much cleaner, especially when warmed.
The location of the instructions I couldn't find was enough to make this video invaluable. The fact that you walked through the whole process as well as some helpful tips was just gravy on top. Thanks!
They have those instructions well hidden don't they :D. Glad I could help.
Hi. That Valkia looks great, I have found her on the shop, but from where are those juicy juicy Demigryph Knights at the end of the vid?
Oh thank you! You can find the Demis as: Knights of the Rising Sun - Highlands Miniatures.
@@arthyficial thanks mate.
Cure -> Warm Water -> Strip Supports 👍 Excessive pitting/scarring is usually from contact points being to deep.
Not what I expected to see today, but very interesting nontheless!
@@myvlogmusic8290 Haven't heard that for the first time. 🥲
Was confused aswell, as it said only 9th age first. Hope this helps a few undecided blokes out and they get to try it - it's amazing!
It really is a great option if you're busy.
I’m happy to see that you uploaded a 28-minute video!😄
Glad that you like it. I on the other hand will try and keep it shorter in the future again. 🤣
All my supports just peel off when I take it off the plate so I do them after the first rinse/wash. Sometimes I have some very tiny hair like supports that I remove after cure. I’d never cure all these supports on there like this though
Good video. I didn't realise anyone cured their minis before removing the supports. Thank you for taking the time to enlighten the unenlightened. I'm with the, 'clean, warm water, remove supports' team. Subscribed )O( Edit: A shame you've discontinued your Tribe on MMF because your minis are looking really good.
Thank you for your very nice comment, your sub and checking out our MMF store. We will continue with the tribe at a later point, we are regrouping at the moment and want to figure out what we want to focus on.
A lot of people in the comments that have never used anything but basic resins and models that don't require any dimensional accuracy I see.
Amazing job!
my way is uncured and running under hot water easy peasy
I'd see where you're coming from with sheep or goat milk, but I don't think one does really taste the cow..... Also, knowing you for a while, I doubt you'd be consuming as much milk as you do, if you'd be tasting the cow! Also. Nice video.
Life overall is milk like consistency!
So Bob Ross was right with those happy accidents?
Never doubted it mate!
I love the result of this tokens 👍
Thanks. Glad you like them
If you can think of a token that would be useful for you and your army, let me know here. I will collect the ideas for a few days and then I will create them and add them to the existing ones for free.
I just bought the GSW large backpack transport. Can't wait! Was great to see you assemble this. You've probably made things less difficult for me
Great to hear. Have fun with that transport box. I've been using it for the past few weeks and can't be happier. Let me know how you like it then.
This works well with miniatures or prints that do not need heat during cure. Some resins require heat while curing. And if you take off the supports prior to cure/heat your part can warp. During these type of cures you should leave the supports on while curing.
I've never came accross something like that. Interesting though.
@@arthyficial Depends on the resin. some of the engineering resins benefit form a hot cure. And all of my formlabs resins required heating while curing.
