I tried K1 once last weekend, for the first time. 55, life of aggressive sports. Son-in-law, similar, fearless. A staff member asked if it was okay if we were put in with "regulars". We said why do you ask. They said "it won't be a race to win, as much it will be a non-stop fight for survival." We laughed and said put us in with them. How hard can it be. It was a freaking non stop bid for survival 27 to 28 second laps. Psycho as we are, we were after lap one 2 and 3, me 3. I took my son-in-law out to be 2, he was 3. I was shaking and sweating. A freaking teenage girl was gonna take me out (I started laughing out loud when I realized it). My son in law f___ing pitted me. I was in an awkward spot and it took me a while to sort it out. He finished 2nd, I 5th, out of 11. We high fived at the end, laughing our asses off. It was the hardest I ever fought to be 5th place out of 11 in my life. I'll be back it's REALLY fun. It's very safe, but you get the adreneline rush.

It looks like fun, but not for $28 for 10 minutes of fun. That is way too overpriced. Theoritically if you wanted to keep racing for only 1 hour, that would cost you $168 which is absurd. I want this place to succeed because the world needs more fun places like this, but no way with that price. They should also make the track wider to accomodate more people per race. With that price, I instead will look elsewhere.

Whenever I see a giant mall close, I think, "Indoor go kart track." Hell, when Arco Arena closed in Sacramento, I thought, "If I win the Powerball, I'm buying it and turning the concourse into an indoor track and the parking lot into an outdoor course."

electric karts are shit i prefer to hear the motor and have more torque and speed who cares about tghe environment stuff

I can't with most indoor facilities. The electric karts are wasted in those places. Tiny tracks with no place to pass or really make time on anyone who remotely knows what they are doing. I'm OK with technical tracks if im just running alone for time, but you get to these places and follow the leader and play bumper cars for 10 minutes. And when they slow everyone down for a spin on the other side of the track when you know your on a good one... freaking maddening.

I would have kept the outside line for T3, and position the kart as much to the right as possible before T4 and accelarate earlier, but of course this is only applicable if you have no one on your tail. Good driving throughout though!

It looks like karting is even more difficult than racing like TC or GT3 - the turns follow right after the other.

Wow, not normally susceptible to motion sickness, but this one got me.

There's no sportsmanship in this league. No one gives room I definitely wouldn't want to race in it

Oh this looks like fun for the whole family

That's the thing about these indoor tracks, the lack of total space forces constraints on the limited track space which makes for constant hairpin turns where overtaking is greatly increased in difficult outside of the exceptions when there's contact usually leading to some kind of a crash or hinderance on the flow of the traffic. It ends up making really bogged down and difficult tracks that are nearly impossible to escape from as you have such little time to strategize and attack a position that isn't another hairpin turn.
