Youlou Mabiala estt un musicien congolais, plus précisément un chanteur de la musique congolaise, également connue sous le nom de rumba congolaise ou soukous. Il était célèbre pour sa voix distinctive et son style musical unique. Mabiala a contribué de manière significative à la scène musicale congolaise et africaine dans les années 1970 et 1980. Ses chansons étaient souvent appréciées pour leurs mélodies entraînantes et leurs paroles poétiques. Mabiala reste une figure emblématique de la musique congolaise et son héritage musical perdure à travers ses enregistrements et son influence sur les générations suivantes de musiciens.

This past spring I visited Los Angeles for the first time in my 70+ years. On Sunset Boulevard, I looked up at the street sign at Clark, and this song started playing on my mental jukebox. I wish I could have been there in the 60's.

Sometimes life is just unfair. Here, Arthur's once four octave voice is shot -- but the soloing by the "Baby Lemonade" guitarist makes this take timeless. The horns and drumming, are perfect!!!!!! If only Arthur had agreed to tour with this kind of sound in '68, just after this gem of a song appeared on FOREVER CHANGES, the history of rock as it appears on "Classic Rock" radio today would be very different from what we have. Arthur was just as good or better than his contemporaries, but they all decided to tour.
