Thank you very much! The host,Bill Moran was extremely polite to Caller#2, who thought Robert Hilburn was a good critic. Huh?, What? ...Hilburn was quite the opposite .Hilburn was the most close minded, lazy "reviewer" that thought his bitchy, negative quips held validity & could hurt recording artists. An awful, bitter queen & so horrid to be around. It was a poorly kept industry "secret" that he was insufferable. His negativity toward artists was only Robert projecting his own self loathing towards talented people. In fact, many people considered a negative review from Robert Hilburn was really a stamp of approval in the highest order. And what makes a critic "worthy" to judge artists anyway? They seem to have so much to say, but have they ever proved themselves as writers or performing artists?

As a kid meathead and Gloria were much older young people but represented the then modern attitude. Archie and Edith were the establishment in an Archie rebelious decline. Now in retrospect older now than Archie and Edith, one feels at odds with Meathead and Gloria as life makes Archie's sarcrastic point of view more believable A movie ro watch is Law and Disorder starring Carrol Oconner was Ernest Borgnine that ehows more of an Archie bunker like character dealing with 70s NY

i was watching a different interview where stephen foster was mentioned and how Neil had listed him as an influence or inspiration. this interview actually gives it another dimension. Foster had to sell the rights to his music and ultimately died with very little to show for his talent. and if you know even a little bit about the industry and record companies you'll know there have been scores of people who went the same path (Badfinger is but one example from the 70's) and if you know even one thing about Neil it's how wasn't afraid to square up to those guys in the industry. He proved it could be done. i don't know what it's like these days. seems a little bit blown to hell with the introduction of social media and platforms like youtube. you no longer need a label to represent you. Plenty of very talented musicians are being heard and they are gaining multitudes of fans and support without prostituting themselves to a record label. it's almost like BUSKING..... only it's not just limited to a street corner. Capitalism at its finest.... if the fans like you they will support you. that's all that matters.

This is wonderfully comfortable and relaxing. My husband and I are binge watching AITF and at 66 years I'm finally realizing the genius of Carroll. I was too busy being a teenager & only occasionally watched; when I did watch I asked my savvy NYC Mom, HOW CAN YOU WATCH THIS? She raised me with no prejudice. I bought his autobiography from Amazon and there's something so peaceful about his voice that relaxes my mental illness (depression, severe anxiety and panic disorder). I hope he'd feel good about that, with the tragic loss of his son Hugh. An old saying from the great author Fannie Flagg: "Sometimes I Just Can't Wait To Get To Heaven". ✌️🙏
