With BP I was expecting something with similar vibes to PSO2 after the disappointment that was NGS but sadly the mage's gameplay was gar too rigid and the cosmetics was lacking. That and the ban of all VPN-users made me not want to continue for more than a few hours.

Fun fact: absolute resonance does absolutely nothing except for boosting your final power in clashes, do NOT go out of your way for resonances and just focus on using your highest damaging skills

Have you considered covering reverse 1999? The story is uh, interesting and it isn't insanely over sexualized. It's fairly new (half a year old in global) and has some insane art direction considering how small it is.

Great video! Though I gotta say, the story wasn't that bad it felt like it could have been an event in the gacha. Id is generally a great character, hopefully if we get him in the gacha we can get a bit more of stuff for him. Also, I really agree on the translation thing, had to trust my ears most of the time. Vyrn was probably the character with most dialogue alteration. Versus also suffers from bad translation but not as much. Its weird considering that the Gacha's translation is usually good. I really hope we get a Relink 2, because like you said, the age of the game was definitely a factor, the GBF writing is amazing nowadays and there's also a bunch of characters i'd love to see but weren't in the game because they're newer. Alternatively, they could make new projects with Relink's gameplay, but adapting the gacha story and events, it would be pretty cool.

I think the story was fine, however it reeks of GBF pre-2017 era of writing, before the WMTSB saga came to be. The original plan for this game was always to have a short story because that is what Platinum games was doing at the time with examples like the Avatar Korra and Transformers games. But then, more problems started to add up, such as the GBF main story still being updated and having key character development moments for the Crew happening in the mobile game while Relink was being developed, for example the Awakenings each character had in the Nahlegrande Skydom. Katalina didn't have Ares back when the game was announced, and the other characters don't even use their Awakened powers like Rackam with Tiamat, it's stuff they didn't even knew they would introduce when Relink's story was made. Basically what i'm saying is that the story was gonna have issues, no matter what, and that's due to how long the game took to make as the mobile game was still getting a lot of updates, that is why they had to disconnect it as much as possible from the mobile game and to try to not give any sort of development to the main members. They were afraid about how to introduce the IP to a new western audience, while at the same time not fucking with the story of the Mobile game that they still didn't know how it would unfold over time. I also think this is the reason why Fate episodes were made the way they were, they are simple text so they would serve as a bandaid for any inconsistencies they found, or in case of new developments in the mobile game (Id's story, Crew backstories getting small mentions in case there would be anything new, and Siete acknowleding the Other Siete). I do get your complaints tho. I'm pretty sure that if we ever get a Relink 2, then the writing will have a notable improvement. Granblue writing has changed a lot from back in the day. That being said, amazing video and i'm so glad people are finding out about Granblue with this game. Hopefully Cygames decides to keep doing more stuff for the IP, an expansion DLC for Relink would be amazing.

for me its fair to compare to mh, ONLY because mh has had multiple iterations making the qol and systems much more refined, something that gbfr doesnt have. I know and have played pso, this isn't what people are talking about by saying gbfr is like mh or want it to be like that. For one it's for the benefit of the fanbase if they took heavy inspiration on how mhw was updated. Granted i dont think they plan to make an expansion like iceborn did, but if the game gets supported enough its only a win win for everyone. Also mh isn't a liveservice game either.

I got a chance to play for a few days when the game launch on JP. Honestly it was the most fun I had in a while. The combat was alright(it was worse then the current state) but all the stupid shenanigans things you could see people do is so entertaining to me. You could teleport to the guild and see a bunch of dudes just dancing in unison around the portal and half of them are naked. Some guy just aggro a high level monster to an afk player. People just randomly has a fishing party despite catching one actually doesn't give you shit. I have been waiting for this game since alpha test and it was a blast. When I got banned I was ok with it but honestly? Right now I despise Bandai Namco so much. I hate it when games become products for profits instead of entertainment. And I know for the fact that the devs didn't want this either.

That feeling when you're way stronger than before in raids is why I keep grinding the mobile game. Also great video, I have the same feelings about relink, but I'm really glad that people can have a grasp on the goated universe that is Granblue Fantasy
