Hey Lee - enjoyed your presentation. About 5 years ago, I got a double strung Eve 22/44 strings. It was “ok” - so many things you can do…but I wanted a bit more. I was on 2 year waiting list for the 29/58 Loralea, and such a difference! wow….that extra octave made all the difference. And yeah! Carolyn Deal and her fantastic videos…and a shout out to James Ford, who wrote the piece “Waiting for Lorraine” that introduces this video…

I can play about any tune I know but a lot of times I hit a wrong note. In other words I cannot play perfect every time I might hit and miss and I have a small problem with accident pauses.

In this world of commercialism, it is refreshing to see someone committing to a long informative workshop. So Kudos. I also wanted to see if u offer the courses on your website as electronic downloadable pdf version and video links .. getting DVD copy etc will be quite a challenge, blessings Manoj Would also love to come to US and attend the festival highlighted where u are a cofounder

I remember stopping by your house when I was first playing harp, it was December and you had all of these beautiful cookies you made. You didn't really even know me, but insisted I leave with cookies. Your home was warm and welcoming, and I never forgot my visit there. I thought your granddaughters were so lucky to have a grandma like you!

Thank you so much. I have 2 Stony End double strung harps. I love their quality. So clear and ring so nicely. They hold their tune so well also.

Lee, lovely video! A bit of clarity on the origins of the double: there weren't any full doubles historically; they were only partially double, with an ictave or so of redundant (overlapping) strings in the mid-range. The harp most closely resembling the contemporary double is the Welsh triple, which has full rows of both string courses. (The triple also has a third row which is the sharps and are hard to reach - which is why Liz and I thought it would be nice to have levers on both rows instead. We both loved the sound of the triple but wanted more access to sharps. That's what prompted us to ask Triplett and Stoney End to make harps with two string rows and two sets of levers. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to us, there was a maker outside the U.S. who had thought of it too. So the contemporary double got invented twice. By the way, each teacher seems to name each exercise differently, so it may be confusing but don't worry, there's no right or wrong about what they are called. I loved your video, Lee!

My harp journey started 26 years ago.

We love our single strung harp. Double Strung harp is still and I know this, it's Double the price. I would like to own one but I will still love my dusty strings Ravenna 34.
