So the question is WHY was your battery so low on a bike that new? I’m buying a 2019, and I’ll put a quick disconnect on it for my battery tender, I hope there’s an opening to route the charging wire.

I think so I had a lot of trouble with that cover and didn't bother putting it back on

I have a 50cc super cub a few years older than this one. I haven't ridden it for a couple of years and yesterday, when I thought it was time to turn it over, the battery was dead. So I jump started it and rode it for an hour or more. While I was out I realised that although the indicator lights came on, they wouldn't flash. Then, at the end, I discovered the battery was still dead. Does this mean I need a new battery? If you jumpstart, how long riding about, should it take for the battery to fully charge? No idea about electricity, but I assume it will charge while riding about?
Not if it sat dead for too long. By now I’m sure you know if it held a charge. These batteries are different from with you in my arms. When they’re dead they’re dead.

I got rid of both of these mirrors found them totally worthless I’m not a big guy but not small either couldn’t see past my shoulders! I got a left side bar end mirror has wide angle view ! safety first and see what’s behind you! Phone mount if you have to have it good idea!
I was a newspaper Presman for 40 years in that time we had three strikes, and many close where we were near walkout and settled at last minute! I was lucky I had the good years through the 80s we made good money and overtime some weeks I would work eight shifts! Doubles shifts
Where do you ride mostly! I find secondary roads in curvy golf course roads! I pump my tires up to max and this thing handles like a road bike!

I had to put mine on the charger this spring! Don’t forget you can still push start these find a hill dropper in first and go! Good luck my friend I’ve got a 2019 blue and white fun little bike I ever had! I’ve had over 15 motorcycles! I like riding on curvy less traveled Secondary roads

This guy is a full on genius!
Honda placed the hex key to open that panel under the seat. However you can't open the seat when the battery is flat. Go figure. Whoever at Honda thought this keyless fob system was better than just a key should've been fired as they forgot the reasons why the cub was the worlds best selling motorbike. And that keyless system is the main reason why I will not buy one.
In some big cities like London thugs push you off and steal your scooter before you have chance to remove the key. With this system it cannot happen. Because with the keyless fob in your pocket as soon as they are a few meters out of range the bike stops. It’s called progress. Phenomenal isn’t it !

@@nbgen This is only true if the battery has enough power to turn the bike on and allow you to unlock the steering lock. As for Honda global considering London gangs that’s a bit of a stretch. It’s probably cheaper these days to make the PCBs than it is to make ignition barrels with thousands of keys. As a happy owner of two C100’s and a C125 I hate to say there’s nothing progressive about it. Although it’s a wonderful bike with stylistic nods to the past they missed the ball totally on the keyless system. It’s awful.
The bike won’t die when you remove the fob. Mine wont quit.

The good news is you can jump start these bikes just by pushing and dropping them into gear..
Honda literally built-in an issue that never existed in 60years of the cub . They added fancy electronics that aren't necessarily and to be honest on a small bike with small battery are a liability and add nothing to the overall experience.

My ignition is hard to turn any tips?
When the battery starts to go dead, before it’s all the way dead, will it just make clicking sounds? That is what mine is doing, it’s not starting and is making clicking sounds. I am not quite understanding what you did with the screwdriver - girl here, brand new cub owner, skill level is that opposite of a mechanic but want to and need to learn. Thank you!
Guess he used the screwdriver just because he couldn't fixate the clamp anywhere.

They sure make it a hassle these days to get to the battery. This is almost a disqualifier
I just wanted to let you know you can actually push start the c125 cub. Ignition on, kill switch to run position. Shift the bike into first. Push the bike, applying a little throttle. The bike will start right up. Shift to neutral and let it idle. Super easy . It's good to know you can jump start it easily too. Thanks!

@@pauldavis7903 Hi Paul. Yes you can. How do I know this? Because I've done it, much to the amusement of my coworkers at the Harley dealership I work at, lol. Anyone that owns a cub, trail cub, passport, etc will tell you these bikes do not have a centrifugal clutch. They have a multiplayer wet clutch that disengages when you shift.

You dont need to unscrew the side panels. It is a bit of a knack, but if you rock the battery cover side-side gently it will come off no problem without damaging the clips.

Any idea what the story is if the blue light on the starter button doesnt even come on??
means the smart key system is disabled. it’s a good idea to disable it if you’re parked at home, as the smart key system drains the battery really quick. you can enable it again before u start the bike by holding on to the Key Logo button on your smart key.
Just what I was looking for. Good idea with screwdriver
