7:00 The reason why it's not that special is because UFC doesn't have the same star power with fighters in 2024 as they did in 2016 for UFC 200. UFC got sold to WME for 4 billion to WME the same week as UFC 200. Basically what I am pointing out is the star power they had at that time was through the roof and is what lead to that sale(also they had Lesnar in their back pocket back then). Thats why there was never a big announcement for 300 and we got the info leaked out week by week. They basically are putting this together on the fly as they dont have the same deep roster and their probably isn't anything realistic they can do besides cancelling cards in order for UFC 300 to be pushed back to a date like the summer when they would have access to Jon Jones for example or maybe McGregor. Truth is UFC 300 would have to be this summer with very deep planning if you wanted it special given the injuries and roster(Ngannou being gone doesnt help)

My issue is that MMA media tends to ask a lot of non fight questions that the general audience of the UFC does not actually care about but they know they can possibly create some interest if they can get a emotional response out of the target. Lets face it.....your average UFC fan doesn't care about comments Sean Strickland made a while ago about Bud Light or transpeople but that media member sure does and will take that opportunity to press the fighter and the promoter about it. MMAFighting reporters notorious for asking these odd ball questions...remember when Jose Youngs from MMAFighting pissed Mike Perry off with the Luis Pena best friends comment? Just seeing some Brooklyn hipster reporter asking stupid questions no one else cares about was hilarious in Perry's nonfiltered response.

That being said, he should have handled the conversation better. When it comes to Strickland though you know what you get. He's not going to answer anything he's going to go on another tirade. I am biased because I do agree with a lot of what Sean not the delivery though. However, I know not to expect anything less or more from him because he's going to continue to go on a diatribe when prompted. Idk just my thoughts buck

Dude, I've unsubbed from a few channels since this whole crap started. Thx for having a balanced and intelligent take, not just focused on cashing in on this. I have only seen 10mins so far, but agree with everything you said. Still. I think this whole thing is deplorable, but so is Ian's conduct, regarding Neal Magni for example, and other issues. I think he brought the hate on himself a bit too. but we have reached "the sun" levels of gossip content in mma.

I don't think people are upset with him because he is dating layla only. The main reasoning is because Ian is deluded and if he were to just accept the circumstances people wouldn't car as much. Even though it's really obvious his wife is sketchy Ian goes on interviews and claims that if she was a gold digger he wouldn't be with her. If Ian just accepted the circumstances and asked people to respect it we would just leave it alone.

As the PFL card demonstrated last weekend ...no. Last weekend they had a free and open shot to make a mark and only demonstrated why they will never be significant. There are some elements that really are incredible (the smart cage mainly) but the presentation and marketing is just horrible. It would be great for MMA in general if these plums could give genuine competition...but they just don't get it. Both will be in the ground in five years at best.

Lol, come on brother, I know you're just starting your channel, and you do have a some good points, BUT you just called yourself a 'HARD CORE' Fight Fan in the opening minutes, and then literally say, a moments later, that you don't care about the fights until they get to the end of the tournament because you're NOT INTERESTED in fights unless they are big names. THAT'S NOT A HARD CORE FAN!!! YOU ARE NOT A HARD CORE FIGHT FAN!!! A HARD CORE FIGHT FAN WATCHES ALL FIGHTS BECAUSE THEY LOVE WATCHING FIGHTS.
